As we close out Recovery Month, we’re highlighting DRMM’s Recovery Housing—available to men and women who have completed a DRMM treatment program.
Residents receive supportive services as they work toward stability, including case management, mental health and substance abuse aftercare, education, job training and employment support.
Those who maintain employment may also receive assistance with rent payments as they transition to permanent housing.
Follow-up support is available for up to six months after leaving Recovery Housing.

We were blessed to welcome Pastor Kwame Francis of Breakers Church as our September speaker for the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries Staff Church Service.
Drawing from Galatians 6:1–5, Pastor Francis reminded us that as believers, we are not immune from falling into difficult or challenging situations. When someone stumbles, we are called to help restore them—but to do so with humility, gentleness and love.

At Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, serving God is part of who we are.
Each month, our staff members attend our Call to Service, a church service for staff, which is a time of worship, fellowship, encouragement and spiritual renewal.
Together, we gather in faith as we continue rebuilding our community, one life at a time, and seek God’s guidance and strength for the work we are called to do.

Meet Sonia Iverson

Sonia’s story is one of resilience, transformation and purpose. She is a former DRMM client who graduated from our shelter program.
Today, she honors her mother’s memory by helping women who are seeking treatment and working to overcome drug and alcohol addiction.
Sonia understands firsthand that recovery is possible — and she now uses her experience to encourage and support others on their journey. ❤️
