Dexter Rural Fire Protection District

Last night about 6:40pm, Dexter, Lowell and Pleasant Hill/Goshen Fire Districts were dispatched to a reported structure fire. Units were on scene within 4 minutes assisting with making sure all occupants were out and establishing fire attack. We want to thank Lowell Fire District and Pleasant Hill/Goshen Fire District for their assistance last night. These great relationships between districts ensure better safety for all of our communities. Dexter Fire responded with a chief and an engine, Lowell Fire responded with a chief, and engine and a tender, and Pleasant Hill/Goshen Fire responded with a chief, an engine and a tender. Working together for all of our communities.

Pretty, pretty please pay close attention to the conditions across the state. The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings and Fire Weather Watches for a large portion of the Oregon for Wednesday.

The forecast is calling for another round of lightning. It's already extremely dry. Our ask: prevent sparking a wildfire.

We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and meaningful Independence Day. Our crews will be out in the District today supporting community events, responding to calls, and enjoying the opportunity to connect with our neighbors.

As you celebrate, please help keep our community safe:

Use only legal fireworks and follow local restrictions.

Keep fireworks away from dry grass, fields, vehicles, and structures.

Have water nearby and soak used fireworks before throwing them away.

Never relight a “dud” firework.

Keep children, pets, and spectators a safe distance away.

Be mindful of veterans, pets, livestock, and neighbors who may be impacted by fireworks noise.

Effective 06-19-2026 00:01 ODF - South Cascade District will move to Reg Use MODERATE/BLUE. IFPL will remain at IFPL 1 with 1 hour fire watch.

Thursday night drill at the Dexter State Recreation Park, practicing wildland hose deployment and water supply operations.

As temperatures rise and fuels continue to dry, we remain committed to staying prepared for the challenges of wildfire season.

Effective Monday, June 8th at 12:01am, ODF has declared fire season in effect. With conditions continuing to dry out and temperatures rising, the fire danger threat is increasing. Please be aware of these changes and how it may affect you.
As we look ahead to what could be a very long and active wildfire season, we appreciate your help in keeping the threat of fire down and our community safe.
