Saphir Sailing

The final act this season - one-way through the Ostsee Kanal in Kiel to our winter berth. We think we will head to Hamburg then Scotland and the Commonwealth next season. But, who knows!

Last night sail this season, enjoying the setting sun glowing through the foresail, and the swish of water on the hull, and starting to make plans for next season. Baltic, since we ran out of time? Kiel to Scotland and the year after Iceland? Or around the commonwealth sail, like the race going on right now but slower? A world of possibilities!

Our final harbor in Finland, Rödhamn, another place of peace and beauty. Tomorrow early we are heading towards Kiel, hoping against the odds for good, following winds.

What a great surprise to meet Kari "Ruffe" Nurmi today - on one of thousands of island in the Finnish Archipelago. Three years after first meeting in Tromsö and in Ny Arlesund in the polar circle. What do you think - next meeting Greenland? Next time the polar calls?
