Thank you to our Walk Committee for all the time and effort given toward making this year’s event possible. We could not have asked for a better day.

Also, a reminder that October 11–17 is OCD Awareness Week! We have some exciting things planned that we can’t wait to share.

During the week, Legislative Hall in Dover and the Indian River Inlet Bridge will be illuminated in teal in recognition of OCD Awareness Week. Legislative Hall will also be illuminated green on the night of October 9 in recognition of PANS/PANDAS Awareness Day.

There is something about these pictures that seems to embody the life and freedom that waits on the other side of OCD. For many, OCD can feel isolating—but we hope everyone may also have the chance to know that this same freedom, and hope, remain for them too.

As we reflect, we want to first say thank you to this year’s OCD Walk Grand Marshal, Eric Levin, for so openly sharing his story and experiences with us last weekend.

Eric shared, in his own words, that this would likely be his only opportunity to speak about his OCD to this depth. This is exactly our mission in establishing OCD Delaware: creating safe and inclusive spaces for those impacted by OCD to feel understood and less alone.

In doing so, we continue to work to increase understanding of OCD and the many ways it can present—with the hope that these efforts will contribute to earlier diagnosis, greater access to care, and ultimately, less years spent suffering.

It is a gift to do this work.

Hundreds of community members came out to support the OCD Walk, showing up with compassion, encouragement, and a shared commitment to mental-health awareness.

Phoenix Family Resources was honored to engage with attendees, share harm-reduction resources, and remind our community that support, education, and dignity save lives. Every conversation matters. Every connection matters. Every person deserves to feel seen.
