Here's a fun way to support COAST this month!

COAST has been selected as one of the nonprofit recipients for October at The Fabulous Find!

When you shop at The Fabulous Find this month, you'll be sending financial support to COAST, Our Place NH - Housing Solutions for Adults with Developmental Disabilities, and Hope On Haven Hill!

The Fabulous Find, a 501c3 non-profit organization (listed under A Caring Community), is a beautifully merchandized boutique style resale shop at 139 State Rd (Route One) in Kittery which partners with different worthy, local non-profit organizations each month.

In14 years, the organization has awarded nearly $4 million dollars in grants to more than 150 local non-profits.

🎉 Today marks 30 years with COAST for our Executive Director, Rad Nichols!

Earlier this month, COAST staff surprised Rad with a special celebration honoring his three decades of leadership and the lasting impact his work has had on our organization and the greater Seacoast community.

Dover Mayor Dennis Shanahan also presented Rad with a proclamation from the City of Dover recognizing his many accomplishments and contributions to the community.

After 30 years at COAST, Rad says his leadership philosophy has remained simple:

“Lead with kindness, act with integrity, and have the courage to try something new.”

We couldn’t have said it better. 💙

Please join us in wishing Rad a very happy 30th anniversary at COAST, and thanking him for three decades of dedication to making our community a better place to live, work, and get around. 🚌

What would happen if you drove a little less?

Celebrate National Week Without Driving, October 1-8!

You don’t have to give up your car for an entire week. Start with just one trip.

Take the bus to work. Walk to the store. Bike to meet a friend. Carpool for an appointment.

Every trip you make without driving means less money spent on gas, less wear and tear on your car, and one more trip made without adding another car to the road.

🚌 COAST can help you get there! Check out our routes and schedules, or use the Transit app to plan your trip.

For options beyond the bus, reach out to Commute SMART seacoast to learn about how you can change your daily habits and rely on your car a little less.

Thank you to everyone who gathered for COAST’s Annual Meeting this morning at the beautiful Portsmouth Elks Lodge!

The meeting opened with Dover Mayor and COAST Board Chair, Dennis Shanahan, giving a warm welcome to all the public transit supporters in the room.

COAST’s Executive Director, Rad Nichols, provided an overview of COAST’s year, reviewing everything from community events, service challenges, staffing, and funding.

Joanne Muckenhoupt, COAST’s Director of Development, gave an update on COAST’s capital campaign to raise funds for a new building, and shared the exciting news about the $1M Challenge Grant COAST received from the Thomas W. Haas foundation.

And finally, Mary Jo Brown delivered a playful and insightful keynote address describing her experience using COAST’s bus system for the first time, and her surprise at discovering that COAST is like a “neighborhood on wheels.”

We are so grateful to our Board of Directors, our donors, advocates, staff, vendors, and community members for their ongoing support of our work and our mission.

Special thank you to Cross Insurance for sponsoring this event!
