Before road trips had playlists, America had this.

Rambles USA Vintage Map is based on a 19th-century geographical game made to teach young players their way around the United States, one landmark, river, mountain, and slightly dramatic illustration at a time.

Look closer and it feels less like a map and more like a tiny adventure board: the Rocky Mountains rise up, the Mississippi snakes through the country, ships crowd the coasts, and the Statue of Liberty stands proudly with the very subtle energy of, “Yes, I am the main character.”

It was education, entertainment, and Americana all rolled into one wonderfully detailed piece of map art.

Now it gets a second life as a wooden puzzle, which feels beautifully fitting. You are piecing together the way people once learned, wandered, and imagined America.

A little geography. A little nostalgia. A very charming ramble. 🧩

Would you start on the coasts, the mountains, or the tiny illustrated chaos in the middle?

A little quiet on Instagram, very loud behind the scenes.

We’ve been making, packing, fixing, answering, shipping… and occasionally remembering to drink our coffee while it’s still hot.

So yes, we’ve been a bit MIA. But only because WAWW has been very busy being WAWW.

Still here. Still making beautiful puzzles. Still grateful you’re here too.

Cézanne looked at a basket of apples and quietly decided: perspective is negotiable. 🍎

Painted around 1893, The Basket of Apples is one of those works that behaves beautifully from far away, then gets delightfully suspicious up close.

The table does not line up. The bottle leans like it heard gossip. The basket seems ready to tumble forward. Even the cookies look like they are trying to hold the composition together.

And here’s the delicious part: Cézanne was not chasing perfect realism. He was studying how we actually see. Not in one frozen glance, but in little shifts. Left, right, closer, farther. Your eyes roam. Your brain rebuilds.

Art historians love this painting because it helps explain why Cézanne became such a giant for modern art. He kept the humble still life, but made it unstable, architectural, and oddly alive. A bowl of fruit became a quiet rehearsal for Cubism.

Which makes it wonderfully fitting as a puzzle: the painting is already asking you to assemble the scene before you even touch the pieces.

A still life with fruit, tension, and just enough visual mischief.

Would the crooked table drive you mad, or make you love it more?

I’ve been stopping at this tiny corner of Bosch’s Eden for years, and it still gives me the same delicious little shiver. I thought of creating a series of Bosch Monsters close-ups, and here is the first one! My daughter told me to name him Jeffrey 😂

There are nearly eighty animals in this panel, and most of them seem to know exactly what they’re doing: hunting, hiding, tempting, warning, surviving.

Very Bosch. But this one? What is happening with Jeffrey?

Oversized hound ears. Tiny black eyes. Feet that can’t quite decide whether they’re hooves or claws... and just two of them!

And instead of joining the grand parade of paradise, it walks alone—no prey, no predator, no obvious purpose—moving in the opposite direction from almost everything around it.

I think this was the first creature in Eden to figure out what was about to happen... The one animal that looked around, understood where the story was heading, and decided to leave before the apple.
What does Jeffrey make you feel?

At first glance, Joseph P. Sims’s 1933 Dog Map of the World looks like a charming international dog show.

More than sixty breeds ring a central world map, each connected by a number to the country the map credits as its origin.

But the map’s geography reflects pedigree customs as much as actual canine lineage: England and Wales are credited with twenty-seven breeds, while the United States gets only three. This is thanks in part to the huge influence of British kennel clubs, written standards, and dog shows in shaping modern breeds.
A breed’s pin on the map opens the conversation.
