Why does your dog always stretch RIGHT in front of you? 👀🐶

That “happy smile” might not always mean happy. 👀🐶

Dogs communicate so much through tiny changes in their face and body and sometimes, what looks like a smile can actually be a sign that they’re uncomfortable or stressed.

Look for clues like:
• Ears pinned back
• Wide or “whale” eyes
• Furrowed brow
• Tense facial muscles
• Lip licking
• Yawning
• Panting when they’re not hot
• Looking or turning away
• Scratching or shifting around

One signal alone doesn’t tell the whole story. Pay attention to the full body, the situation, and what’s normal for your dog.

Learning their body language means getting better at listening even when they can’t use words. 💚

Save this for your next “What is my dog trying to tell me?” moment.

Your dog licks your hand. You think, “Aww, kisses.” 🥹🐶

But sometimes, there’s more to the picture.

If your dog is also turning their head away, avoiding eye contact, leaning away, licking their lips, or gently moving your hand away, they may be saying, “I need a little space.”

Dogs communicate through their whole body, not just one behavior. Learning to notice those small signals can help you understand when they’re uncomfortable, overwhelmed, or simply not in the mood for interaction.

Because being a good dog parent isn’t just knowing when to cuddle. It’s knowing when to give them room, too. 💚🐾

Save this as a reminder to listen to the little things your dog is saying.

“I haven’t seen ANY fleas!”

We hear this one a lot. 👀🐶

But here’s the thing: you may not see fleas and your pet can still have a flea problem.

For pets with flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), the saliva from a flea bite can trigger intense itching and skin irritation. And some highly sensitive pets groom themselves so much that finding an actual flea can be difficult.

Watch for signs like:

🐾 Constant scratching or licking
🐾 Hair loss
🐾 Red or irritated skin
🐾 Small scabs or crusts
🐾 Chewing at the skin, especially around the back and tail area

So what can you do?

🪳 Keep your pet on consistent, vet-recommended flea prevention.
🧹 Clean bedding and regularly vacuum areas where your pet rests.
🐾 If you have multiple pets, make sure their flea prevention is addressed too.
🩺 If the itching continues, have your vet check for fleas, allergies, infections, or other possible causes.

And remember: not seeing a flea doesn't automatically rule out fleas.

For everyday skin and itch support, Aniwell can be part of your pet's wellness routine but persistent itching deserves a proper veterinary check to find the underlying cause. 💚

SAVE this for the next time your pet starts scratching, and SHARE it with a pet parent who thinks, “But I checked, there are no fleas!” 🐶

4 quiet signs your dog may be in pain. 🐶💚

Dogs don’t always show pain by limping or crying. Sometimes, the first clues are tiny changes in their normal routine.

Watch for these:

THEY CHANGE THEIR FAVORITE SPOT
If your dog suddenly stops jumping onto the couch, bed, or their usual resting place, pay attention. They may be choosing a position that feels more comfortable.

THEY MOVE JUST A LITTLE SLOWER
No obvious limp. No struggle. Just taking longer to get up, walk, climb stairs, or keep up with you.

THEY HESITATE AROUND FOOD
Still eating, but pausing before eating or chewing differently can be worth noticing, especially if it’s a new behavior.

THEY REACT TO TOUCH
Pulling away, flinching, becoming unusually sensitive, or suddenly vocalizing when touched can be a sign that something hurts.
The important part? You know your dog’s normal.

A small change that seems insignificant on its own can become important when you notice it happening repeatedly or alongside other changes.

If something feels different, don’t wait for your dog to show obvious pain. Talk to your veterinarian and mention exactly what changed and when you first noticed it.

Save this as a reminder to pay attention to the little things. 🐾
And share it with a pet parent who knows their dog better than anyone.
