Congratulations Zac Tiknis for being selected as the Elgin Riverside Club 2025 Man of the Year!

Zac Tiknis, the newly elected 2025 Man of the Year at the Elgin Riverside Club, was born at Old Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL, raised in Bartlett, and graduated from Elgin High in 1996. He earned his Bachelor’s from Columbia College Chicago in 2001 and spun that into a 25-year career in advertising, making stops at Foote Cone & Belding, TPN, Integer, and Marks.

Known for his sharp wit (once dubbed “rapier-like”), Zac’s a guy who can pitch a killer campaign, catch a 50” muskie (despite Kurt’s claims), and work a grill without breaking a sweat.

A longtime fixture at the Elgin Riverside Club — from Fish Fries to Grill Club to Riviniafest — Zac’s always been the one to raise a spatula or a glass. He’s also served as an adjunct professor at Roosevelt University, and when he’s not working or volunteering, you’ll find him golfing, cooking, gardening, or down at the club sharing stories with friends.

Married to Julie since 2007 and proud dad to Avery and Henry, Zac’s called the west side of Elgin home since 2015 — a beloved son, sibling, cousin, husband, father, friend, and the kind of guy who makes any gathering better.

A dinner will be held on June 21 to celebrate this honor. Cocktails: 6 p.m.; Dinner: 7 p.m. with program to follow.

Menu: Prime Rib, Chicken, Vegetarian with Fingerling Potatoes, Asparagus and Garden Salad.
