Promising news from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety: Reported crime decreased across North Carolina during the first half of the year.
✅ Violent crime is down 5.8%.
✅ Property crime is down 11.9%
✅ Financial crime is down 2.1%
✅ Drug crime is down 3.2%
I’m encouraged by these findings, but any crime is too much crime. We still have work to do to make sure people are and feel safe in their communities.

Data centers must pay their own way to lower our electricity costs. It’s time for the Utilities Commission to make Duke Energy’s voluntary pledge legally binding so that North Carolina families do not bear the costs of data centers.
Jeff Jackson pushes new Duke rate class so data centers cover their share, not residents North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson is urging the Utilities Commission to create a new rate class for Duke Energy’s data center customers, according to
Since the beginning of our administration, North Carolina has announced more than 46,000 new good-paying jobs and $32.8 billion in private capital investment.
These investments are creating opportunities for people across our state and strengthening North Carolina’s economy for years to come.
From the mountains to the coast, we spent the summer working hard (and having a little fun). I am energized and ready to go into a new season continuing our work to build a safer and stronger North Carolina.
Tonight marks the first night of Rosh Hashanah. This new year is the perfect time for us to reflect on the values of teshuvah and tikkun – repentance and repair. Our faith calls us to stop our transgressions and apologize for them and to do our part to make a difference and leave the world better than we found it.
To all those celebrating the new year across North Carolina, may you have a happy, healthy, sweet and peaceful new year. L’Shana Tova!

It was inspiring to spend the afternoon serving alongside Activate Good’s volunteers in Raleigh.
Their commitment is a reminder that service doesn’t end today. By continuing to show up for one another, we can build stronger, more connected communities for generations to come.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the first responders who ran toward danger to protect others.
Today, we honor their memories and the courage of the Americans who came together in the face of unimaginable tragedy. We will never forget.
I’m at the North Carolina National Guard Joint Force Headquarters as we commemorate 25 years since the September 11, 2001, terror attacks. Join us:
On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives who were killed that day, hundreds of first responders who died because of their heroic efforts, and countless others whose lives were forever changed. Just as much as the horrific images from that day are seared in our minds, so are the heroes who responded.
This year, during America’s 250th year, we cherish what it means to be an American: to love freedom, justice, security, democracy, and peace. Let us honor the memories of our heroes: the brave passengers of Flight 93, the firefighters who rushed toward danger as people ran for their lives, and the neighbors who helped their neighbors through unthinkable tragedy. And let us remember that there is more that unites than divides us. America is strongest when we stand together.
