On Tuesday I voted in support of legislation that would open PA's primary elections to voters registered as Independent – who, here in Bucks County, comprise 18% of registered voters.
We’ve seen a steady decline in civic engagement over the last few years, paired with an increase in entertainment culture in politics; both are contributing to alarming polarization among Americans. I co-sponsored this bill because I believe lawmakers are here to work for the people, not for political parties. Voting rights are a hallmark of citizenship, so we must secure this right for Independent voters by allowing them to participate in primary elections.

Saturday was a blustery, rainy day, but hundreds of you still came out for our shredding event and food drive.
Sen. Steve Santarsiero and I, along with our hardworking staff and some dedicated student volunteers from CB West and CB East, spent the morning unloading bags and boxes of food and helping with stacks of paper for shredding. It was great to see so many of you willing to brave the weather to take care of some paperwork and, more importantly, help neighbors in need.
Together, we shredded 3 tons of paper, which will save approximately 51 trees and 21,158 gallons of water by being recycled.
We also collected 1,238 pounds of food for the Bucks County Opportunity Council. Thank you to all who donated!
A special thank you to CB East and Buckingham Township and Titan Mobile Shredding for helping make the event possible, and to all of our staff and student volunteers who kept things moving throughout the day.
We’re grateful to everyone who came out, rain or shine!

I recently had the opportunity to attend Robotics & AI Discovery Day in Pittsburgh and was glad to participate in a legislative roundtable alongside DCED Secretary Rick Siger.
Developments in robotics and AI are moving quickly, and it’s important that we’re learning as much and as quickly as possible about what these technologies mean for Pennsylvania’s economy.
What struck me most was the connection to innovation happening right here in Bucks County. Pittsburgh has built a tremendous ecosystem around robotics and technology, while our district has important leaders like the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center and Delaware Valley University helping drive research, education and innovation in life sciences and agriculture.
Pennsylvania is investing in that innovation economy, and we’re seeing the benefits locally. It was a great opportunity to learn from what’s happening in Pittsburgh and think about how we can continue building on the innovation happening right here at home.
A lot to learn, and a lot to bring back to Bucks County.

As we continue to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, we have a generational opportunity to highlight Pennsylvania’s pivotal role in the founding of our nation and the enduring importance of our democratic system.
Earlier this month, the state House of Representatives convened at Congress Hall in Philadelphia’s Independence National Historical Park, returning to the site where the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights were debated.
We paired this ceremonial Session day with an immersive civic education program, where students from across PA engaged with members of the Legislative, Judicial, and Executive branches to gain a practical understanding of how state government operates and serves the public. To represent the 29th Legislative District, I was proud to invite Ethan Bolanos, a student at CB West High School.
It was especially meaningful to see these young folks getting to share in this historic event, reminding us all that we are passing them the torch of civic duty as our future leaders. Our belief that each generation can build a better future continues to be one of our enduring strengths as a nation.
