Meeting others' expectations often results in a loss of self.
During a recent conversation with Christine Gale, we discussed how often we lose sight of our own wants and needs and the fallacy that balance is something everyone achieves.
After spending years focused on pleasing others, Christine shared insights on reclaiming and owning your identity without apology.
Many women, especially moms, leaders, and high achievers, quietly lose themselves along the way. By understanding what identity really means, we can begin to reclaim who we’ve always been.
In the comments, share how pleasing others has impacted your own personal identity.

Living two separate lives - success during the day, anxiety/addition at night. . .
I recently had a very insightful conversation with Haley Cooper, who shared what it was like to lead successfully on the outside while struggling with anxiety and feeling unsafe in her own body.
Leadership can look strong from the outside while the inner struggle remains unseen. Understanding the root of our behaviors is an important step toward healing and transformation.
When have you experienced “day-time success” while hiding and numbing at night?
Share your experiences of how anxiety has driven you to feel like you are living two separate lives in the comments.

Get curious about who you are.
Get curious about your relationships.
Get curious about who you need to forgive and maybe you need to forgive yourself.
Because unforgiveness increases anxiety and causes guilt and shame to build.
It impacts your overall health and well-being - mentally, physically, and spiritually."
How often do we assume anxiety is simply part of being a leader, mom, or business owner?
I recently had a very insightful conversation with Sarah Cornwell of Sarah Cornwell Jewelry, who shared her experience navigating anxiety while balancing leadership, motherhood, and running a very successful business.
Anxiety isn’t always something we recognize right away. For many people, the realization comes after years of living with it. Understanding anxiety is the first step to moving forward.
I’d love to know how anxiety drove comparison and success in your life, relationships, and career. Share in the comments.

We can't pour from empty
"We can't take care of everybody else if we don't have some sense of self. Not only can we not do it — we shouldn't even have that as a goal."
How often do we dismiss feeling tired as just part of life?
What if….your hormones were to blame?
And you were stuck feeling tired…ALL THE TIME?
I recently had an informative conversation with the incredible Dr. Alicia about how ongoing fatigue and low energy may be connected to hormone imbalances rather than simply having a busy schedule.
When we understand and address the root cause, we can begin to restore our energy and overall health.

The negative what-ifs
"The fear tells us:
what if I'm not as good as that person?
What if I fail as a mother?
What if I fail?
What if I’m not good enough?
All these negative what-if thoughts compound to shape us into who we are - and not the person we're supposed to be - who God called us to be."

Values alignment reduces anxiety
"When we align ourselves with our values, we have way less anxiety because we're living attuned to what God is saying to us.
When we're not aligned with our values, that's when emotional chaos gets established and the anxiety sets in."

Anxiety strips your identity
"Anxiety strips you from your identity because it tells you so many lies. You become a person living in a state of guilt or shame because of what's happening within your mind and you lose sight of who you are."

Anxiety and leadership behaviors
"Anxiety holds a lot of people back.
As leaders, we have these anxiety-driven behaviors of perfectionism, control, people-pleasing.
We're so focused on making sure everybody else is happy, we lose sight of taking care of ourselves and that's when burnout sets in.
