Happy Zookeeper Week: Meet Zookeeper Christy 🎉
How it started:
Growing up, I was in 4-H and had a passion for animals. I went to Delaware Valley College to study Animal Science, not knowing quite what I wanted to do. I interned at the Philadelphia Zoo and fell in love with the zoo field. After college, I started working at Cape May County Zoo as a Seasonal keeper.
How it's going:
It's now been over 20 years since I started this journey, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I have worked with a large variety of animals at the zoo, but my main focus has been the Savanna animals. Giraffe have always been my favorite since I was a kid. I enjoy being able to work with these amazing animals every day. I'm still involved with 4-H, and I love sharing the zoo with the local 4-Hers too.
