Pictures of the 9/11 345 Memory Project by Zach Frederick who became a firefighter in 2019. Inspired by a memory training course he attended in February 2025, he decided to memorize the 343 names of the FDNY Firefighters that lost their lives on 9/11. He began in May 2026 and committed to memory all 343 Firefighters. On the morning of 9/11, he wrote out each individual name on the twin towers he constructed and then took part in honoring those lost by completing the memorial stair climb in San Antonio. He said it was a large undertaking; he is humbled to have completed this project by honoring those who gave it all and who are forever etched in our memory. Zachโs memorial will be on display this week at NHCFR Station #71, 400 Sportsplex Drive.

We are so proud of Chase Bender, whose generous heart continues to shine through his lemonade stand. For years, Chase has faithfully raised funds to purchase appreciation snacks for the North Hays County Fire/Rescue firefighters, showing kindness and dedication far beyond his years. One of these pictures captures a beautiful full-circle moment with Chase and Assistant Chief Humphreyโfirst in 2022 and again today in 2026. There is another earlier photo with the truck and crew and then pictures with current day crew. Thank you, Chase, for your caring spirit, your commitment to serving others, and the joy you bring to our local heroes!
