🎬 Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee is set to make a new Irish dancing mockumentary series for Netflix.

🍀 The streamer has greenlit 'Jig' - a new six-part comedy series focusing on the high-stakes world of Irish dancing.

🏆 It will follow two best friends at a struggling dance school in Derry who have their sights set on the World Championships, but are up against a rival Florida-based team.

The BorderCollies are a contemporary Celtic band, featuring a unique blend of traditional Celtic and folk influences in their music. The Feakle Festival returns this August for its 39th festival, running from Wednesday 5th to Monday 10th August 2026. Set in the village of Feakle in the heart of East Clare, the festival continues its long-standing tradition of celebrating Irish traditional music, song, and dance through a diverse programme of concerts, workshops, and community events.

This year’s concert series presents an outstanding line-up of artists from across the traditional music spectrum. Highlights include performances from Cormac Begley & Liam O’Connor, Martin Hayes & Steve Cooney, Séamus Uí Fhlatharta & Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta, and Ryan Molloy, alongside The Máirtín O’Connor Band, Jack Talty & Ruairí McGorman, Sorcha Costello, Eva Carroll & Méabh Mulligan, Altacht, Maitiú Ó Casaide, Odhrán Ó Casaide, and the ensemble Cúirt na mBán, with many additional special guests to be announced.

Beyond the concert stage, Feakle Festival offers a rich and immersive cultural experience. Visitors can enjoy céilís, workshops, film screenings, guided walks through the East Clare landscape, daily informal music sessions, CD launches, and a wide-ranging programme of children’s events, all contributing to the festival’s welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

Whether you are an established musician, a dedicated follower of traditional arts, or a first-time visitor eager to experience Irish culture at its source, the Feakle Festival offers something for everyone in a warm and authentic village setting.
