The sunshine is back and so is First Friday.
Start out this Fall First Friday with some early events with the Durango Cowboy Gathering starting at 1pm.
Make sure to not miss out on The Subterrain & Durango Winery “Creature Feature” collective art show. Just in time for spooky season, wander the depths of The Subterrain & Durango Winery to see this fun monster themed show. While there enjoy 20% off locally crafted b**r, w**e, and spirits. 👻👻👻

For the Month of October we will be spotlighting the Artists of Durango Open Studio Tour.
Opening reception is First Friday, October 2 | 5-8PM
Meet the Artists, see samples of their work, and plan your weekend.
The Open Studio Tour takes place Oct. 17 & 18 from 10-4PM. An info booth will set up at the DCD Community Gallery during the tour.

The Durango Creative District is partnering with Durango Parks and Recreation to hold a plein air painting gathering at Lake Nighthorse on Tuesday, October 20, 9-12pm. Bring your supplies and enjoy the calm of painting outdoors and camaraderie of meeting fellow artists. The session is free, but registration is required by October 13

Creature Feature Collective Art Show
- all ages are welcome to display art!
- art must be wall mounted and ready to hang
- artist may but are not required to bring in a small printed biography with artwork
- three pieces allowed per artist
- all entries must be “monster” themed
- any medium, any size that will fit on a wall
- $5 per piece hanging fee, paid at dropoff
- art does not have to be for sale
- art sold will remain through October and can be picked up at the beginning of November
- 30% of sales price will be retained by Durango Winery/The Subterrain
- 70% of sales price per sold piece will be paid to the artist at the end of the show
Art must be dropped off and registered at Durango Winery by Thursday October 1st.
An opening and reception will be held at The Subterrain and Durango Winery for the October First Friday
downtown gallery event on October 2nd, 5-8pm, all participating artists are encouraged to
attend!
Durango Winery is located at 900 Main Avenue, open hours are Monday and Thursday 2-7pm,
Friday and Saturday 2-8pm, and Sunday 12-5pm.
