Butte Valley Ranch

Big weekend for “Henry” Dimiro 🖤

(Diamant de Semilly × Ars Vivendi, 1.60 m — Acord II)

Henry had his Holsteiner inspection this week, which was such a big achievement for us! It was my first Warmblood inspection, and even more excitingly, the first one I’ve personally participated in.

The inspection was hosted by Branscomb Farms in Half Moon Bay, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Henry scored a 7 for movement, which was incredibly exciting, and I’m super proud of this young man.

I learned so much from the fabulous team at Branscomb Farms and the excellent judges who traveled from Germany. It was such a valuable experience, and I’m looking forward to many more.

Big things ahead for this special guy!

Happy Birthday, Handsome Henry! 🎂🍰

PSA: He was not asked to jump. He was just free in the arena, squared up, and went for it all on his own 🥳 He's quite the confident young man!

A little barn update!
We’ve been getting a fair bit done lately—five new stall runs 12 x 40, a 50 x 60 turnout, all new pipe fencing, mats, footing, lights, fans and misters. Still have one more job to finish off the turnout paddock, but we’re nearly there.

Really happy with how it’s all coming together. It’s been a big project, but it’s going to be a lovely setup for our mares. ✨

Major thanks to JMC Fence

✨ “Blessed are the broodmares” ✨

There’s something so special about this mare she’s been so much more than just a broodmare. For the past 16 years she’s done everything with me, always with a steady hoof, from camping on the beach in Point Reyes to packing me through the High Sierras 🏕️ 🌊 🏔️

I’ve been so blessed to have her in my life, and it means so much that she’s leaving the next generation in my hands to love and care for.

I feel incredibly grateful to have had Tucker since the very day she was born. And now, seeing her become such an amazing mama and give us the most beautiful babies makes my heart so full.

Each one carries a little piece of her sweetness, strength, and spirit.✨💛

We’ve been busy over the last few months replacing the last few wire strand fences with no climb!
Thrilled to have safe pastures for all the horses on the property 🐴

It’s a beautiful day out at the ranch!
Contact Karen if you’d like to come ride!

Happy new year!
After lots of rain, it’s sunny and our arena has drained. The footing is excellent!

Current clients are welcome to haul in to ride, but please let us know and so we can fit you into the schedule.

🎄🎁 Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
