☀️Summer is in full swing! Here are a few snapshots of our Fellows Summer Social from earlier this week. We had a lovely potluck, fellowshipped, and enjoyed a sweet meal together.

This past Saturday, I led a session through Why Work at Christ Central Church Men’s Prayer Breakfast. We shared a meal and discussed work through a Gospel lens and how we can connect our work to God’s work.

Welcome our new TA—Caroline Henderson!

Q: Tell us about you.
A: I grew up in West Texas and moved to the Triangle for college (Go Heels!). After earning a degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, I worked for a college ministry in Nairobi, Kenya, for two years before moving back to this area to work in the laboratory full-time. Now, I have the incredible privilege of being a faculty member in the program from which I graduated. When I’m not teaching students on campus, you might see me in Downtown Durham leading gourmet food tasting tours, at the rock club lifting weights and honing my climbing skills, or spending time with my friends and godkids.

Q: Why Triangle Fellows?
A: I strongly believe in this good work. Because of my experience in college ministry, I had a very specific idea of what it meant for my faith to inform my work (i.e. I was proficient at drawing the bridge diagram). Triangle Fellows challenged that idea in the kindest, most gracious way through the readings, teachings, and discussions, and I started to see my work and my role at work in light of God’s redemption. I live in the hope that all is being made new, myself and my work included. To get to process this alongside a cohort of other believers of different ages, church homes, backgrounds, and professions while we eat together, learn together, and pray together is a special experience.

Q: Why TA?
A: The best way to learn something is to teach it, right? It has been a few years since I went through the program, and I want to revisit and better understand some of the frameworks, practices, and tools I was taught. Also, I’m looking forward to guiding others who are seeking to connect their work with God’s work. Sometimes it’s hard to put into words exactly what Triangle Fellows is—it’s unique and transformative and challenging and delightful—but it’s worthwhile because you’ll have a greater love for God, His work, and His people (including yourself) at the end of it.

“The question regarding our choice of work is no longer, ‘What will make me the most money and give me the most status?’ The question must now be, ‘How, with my existing abilities and opportunities, can I be of greatest service to other people, knowing what I do of God’s will and of human need?’”

A little preview of our summer reading! 📖

You’re invited to attend our upcoming Prayer Walk next Thursday, June 18!

We know that we all struggle to pray. What if we had a structure and a community?

On the third Thursday of June, we’ll gather to pray for Fellows, ReCity, and Downtown Durham and go through prayer resources. We’ll finish at a local pub for drinks!

RSVP at the link in our bio!😎
