After six years in storage, the boneyard is coming back out 💀

A beloved tradition in teaching studios, a boneyard is a collection of objects made by instructors and visiting artists that, over time, becomes an archive of a studio’s history. On view from October 16th through November 5th, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺𝘢𝘳𝘥 offers a glimpse into the people and ideas that have shaped Claymakers over the years.

Join us Friday, October 16 from 7–9 pm for the opening reception. We’ll also have an artist market featuring work by Claymakers’ studio assistants—come support these talented artists.

We can’t wait to share this little piece of Claymakers history with you!

Open to all 2026 class participants, private studio artists, instructors and studio assistants. Apply on our website by October 14 at 11:59 pm.

Our final set of 2026 classes is almost here! Registration for Session 7 opens this Friday, October 2nd at 12 pm sharp.

Choose from 17 classes in wheel throwing, handbuilding, and sculpture at all levels, including special topics like:

• Creating candy-colored incised surfaces with Jessica
• More nerikomi-inspired handbuilding with Julia
• Creating beautiful pierced pots with Liz
• Turning slabs into 3D ornaments with Evelyn

Only a few days left to sign up for our pumpkin workshop with Christy Whitehouse!

Open to advanced beginners and beyond, Christy will teach students to throw a closed sphere and alter it into a realistic pumpkin. No experience with closed forms necessary— the lumpier your pumpkin, the more realistic it looks!

It’s time for the annual Claymakers Community Showcase—and this year, we’re so excited to show your work off in our beautiful new gallery space! This juried show will run from November 14th-December 11th.

Applications are open now through October 14th at 11:59 pm. Anyone who has participated in a class or had a private studio in 2026 is welcome to apply!

Unlike a tattoo, 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 can’t last forever: we’ve loved having this incredible show in the Claymakers Gallery, but unfortunately, it’s coming to an end next Friday, September 25th.

The Claymakers Gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday, 1-6 pm. Stop by before then to see over 40 collaborations between potters and tattooists, like this little sweetie from Christy Whitehouse and Karah Hamel.

Or join us for the closing reception on Friday, September 25th, from 7–9 pm. Purchased pieces can be taken home at the end of the reception, and we’ll announce the winners of all four raffles at 9 pm. You don’t have to be present to win, but wouldn’t it be more fun to find out in person?

Spooky season is here! 👻 We’ve got a fun lineup of one-time workshops coming up over the next few weeks, including a much-requested underglaze transfers class with Katherine Marting. Make handbuilt or wheel-thrown pumpkins, pinch pot monsters, and more!
