If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know I’m a C.Difficile survivor and talk all the time about the importance of knowing your numbers. Because when it comes to your health, you just can’t throw spaghetti at the wall.

A few months ago, I started having some GI issues that were making me really sick several days out of the week.

Turned out it was directly related to my cheating on dairy and gluten a little too often. 😱🥛🥐

However, the testing I had done (called the O.A.T.S. Test) revealed that I have way too much
C.Difficile bacteria (and yeast) residing in my gut.
It’s not active like it was when I lost lbs in 3 hours 11 years ago, but it’s still there.

Since stopping all the dairy/gluten cheating, all my symptoms are gone — along with the eczema I had suddenly broken out with on one shoulder and bicep.

I’m working with two fantastic practitioners to help me get this awful bacteria under control and eradicated using some pretty strong herbal-based protocols.

But first, I have to open up all my detox pathways because I have a specific gene mutation that makes it a little bit harder for my body to detox properly.

👉🏻Again, had I not done the lab (a simple blood test), I’d not know this. 💉🩸👈🏻

Friends, maintaining your body/health is like maintaining a home. You take care of the little things before they become huge things.

You pay attention to the drafts, the little cracks and the pipe leaks long before they get worse and your house is flooded.

This is the face of a woman who found out how powerful she really is.

Being promoted to President of NAWBO Charlotte within the National Association of Women Business Owners family woke up a giant I had NO idea was inside of me, just waiting to be unleashed.

Recently, I’ve been thrust into making decisions I would have run from in the past —- both professionally and personally.. Now I find myself running right to and through them. Dang. I credit that to hours spent in prayer and being surrounded by a couple of very wise mentors/advisors.

High level leadership forces you to either sink or swim.
I chose to swim the last couple of weeks….. and a few of those times that swimming included being in a pool full of sharks (I ate the damn sharks alive. Burp*)

It reminds me of the story in the Bible where the people built a fortress with a shovel in one hand and a sword in the other.

Pray. Build. Pray. Build. Wash, rinse, repeat.

New level, new devil as they say.

But…. We’re busy over here advocating for those who can’t do so for themselves and teaching others how we will or will not be treated. Words mean nothing unless your actions back them up. I will choose action every time.

Friends, you have no idea how powerful you really are until the moment arises when you MUST make a choice otherwise. Courage doesn’t mean a lack of fear. It means pulling up your big-girl panties, running right into the fire, and trusting that if God called you to it, He will see you through it.

Let’s gooooooo 💥📦🔥!!!!

Wonderful (but way too short) trip to see family and friends in Virginia!

Swimming, lots of laughs, good food, cousin time, friend time, dogs chasing each other around the hilly countryside. And….Carl got to see his favorite band (Phish) with his best friend two nights in a row.

Cherry on top was getting to see “Grandma Kim.” She led Carl to the Lord decades ago and has remained a faithful prayer warrior for our family. I bawled my eyes out getting to see her again after waaaay to long of NOT seeing her in person.

AND…. I got to see my friend and NAWBO DC sister, Jenevieve Lenz after the World Cup soccer game (Goooooo Spain!!!)
