Ezekiel saw priests appointed to protect the temple's holiness, standing guard so nothing unclean could enter.
That call still holds—a holy God commands us to take his holiness seriously. And the good news is that we don't guard it alone. In Jesus, our great high priest, we're given a holiness we could never earn ourselves.

It's easy to hand God a laundry list and quietly grow frustrated when the answers don't come. But picture Jesus rising from the ground in Gethsemane, blood still on his face, having chosen to drink the cup of God's wrath in your place. He drank it to the dregs. There's none left for you. That, and his resurrection, is enough for you to be happy today.
From Pastor Andy's sermon, "Gethsemane: The Greatest The Greatest Display of Courage in History" (Mark 14:32-42). Watch the full sermon here: https://twojourneys.org/sermons/series/other-ministries/gethsemane-the-greatest-display-of-courage-in-history/
Jesus's healing wasn't just showing compassion, it was giving proof that he is God.
The healing of the paralytic, the raising of the widow's son, Jairus' daughter, the woman healed from her bleeding — every miracle carried the same message: Jesus has authority on earth to forgive sins, because he is God.
The healing was the evidence.

"Through Him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified by the law of Moses." (Acts 13:39)
This may be one of the clearest statements of the gospel in the whole book of Acts. Justification isn't just forgiveness — it's God the Judge declaring you officially, legally righteous. Not guilty. Fully accepted.
Your sins can be forgiven through Jesus. 🙌

Sound doctrine must be protected...
It's written all over the prophets!
Christ would die and rise again, but that's not all. Scripture also foretold that this message would be preached to the ends of the earth, beginning at Jerusalem.
Jesus opened his disciples' minds to understand it. And after his resurrection, he spent 40 days appearing to them with "many convincing proofs that he was alive" (Acts 1:3), teaching them about the kingdom of God before his ascension.

The Holy Spirit is mentioned 61 times in the book of Acts — more than any other book in the Bible!
He is the energetic, creative, powerful, and intelligent driver of the Great Commission. And he is every bit as good at his job as Jesus was at his.
The gospel advances to the ends of the earth, and to the end of time, by the power of the Spirit.
