Everyone loves easy projects. This latest decal set from RailTrain Hobbies lets you model one of Espee's boxcars without having to paint and letter an entire car.

Rapido Trains Inc. released a nice model of the B-100-40 boxcar a few years ago. Accurately painted and lettered, it is a nice model right out of the box, one you can still find on hobby shop shelves and at your favorite online hobby reseller.

This decal set allows you to modify the factory paint and lettering of the Rapido model to match the second class of these cars Espee rostered, the B-100-43 class of 100 cars, built new by PCF in March of 1978. These cars featured different loader equipment (DF Loaders on these ones) and some cars even had Keystone underframes in place of the typical Hydracushion units, in which case PCF omitted the bold HYDRA-CUSHION lettering when painting the cars at the factory.

By removing select lettering from the factory car and replacing data with the lettering on this set, you can build a model of the B-100-43 cars without a full repaint. This is easy to do using the Micro-sol and paper towel method described on the RailTrain Hobbies website.
