Encore Creative Center

We want to thank our community for over five years serving you as Encore Creative Center! It’s been an honor to help bring joy and excellence to so many people through creative education.

As we pack out, we decided to open our doors once more for one more sale and allow offers to be made on any item in the building: costumes, props, art supplies, office supplies, furniture, decorations, tech gear, instruments, music books, etc. We have liquidated much already but much still remains.

Please message us with any questions about the transition. We will remain a resource for local families looking for instructors and opportunities in music and the arts.

First rehearsal of Newsies JR tonight! Missing a few students in this photo, but “we are united!”

Today’s work included vocal techniques in lung expansion, vowel shapes, and healthy belting, plus creative improv work and a NYC street accent workshop.

“Nothing can break us, nothing can make us quit before we’re done” -another Newsies line😎

Want to join? We have room for a few more 9-18 year olds in this fun intermediate-advanced group!

We are delighted to share the live recording from our closing night of The Little Mermaid. (Filmed by our film students!)

Welcome, Rita!
A friend of Encore for years and playing with Starrharrt Symphonic since 2020, Rita now joins our instructor team as a CELLO instructor!

Rita grew up in Hungary where she began to play the cello at the age of 7. After 7 yrs of music school experience, she was accepted to the Bela Bartok Music Conservatory. During her studies, she regularly performed with the local Music Theater as well. After graduating in 1991, she auditioned and was accepted to the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz, Austria. She spent 5 years studying under Prof. Floria Kitt and had the opportunity to perform with several local symphony orchestras as well as chamber groups. In 1996 Rita started performing with “Seefestschpiele Morbish”, a well-known pit orchestra in Austria, and performed operettas and operas during their summer series of “Operas on the Lake”.

After earning her Masters degree in music performance and teaching in 1996, Rita moved to the United States, right to Boise, Idaho and has been living here in the Treasure Valley ever since. In 2008 Rita earned her second Masters degree in elementary general education. She has been maintaining an active cello studio for the past 30 years and at the same time teaching general music, orchestra and choir classes in our local public, charter and private schools. Currently, she is teaching ESL classes at an elementary school and loving it! Rita also enjoys performing with the pit orchestra for all Encore Broadway musicals and with Starrharrt Symphonic!
