"There are two kinds of people no one ever suspects to be murderers: little girls and old ladies. I like to think I'm special because I've been both." - Mad Mabel by Sally Hepworth

I spy a copy of Mad Mabel in the library!

Summary:
Meet Elsie Mabel Fitzpatrick: eighty-one years old, gloriously grumpy, fiercely independent, and never without a hot cup of tea—or a cutting remark.

Enter seven-year-old Persephone, a relentless little chatterbox who has just moved in across the road.

Add in the recent death of a neighbor and the public scrutiny and neighborhood gossip begins.

Is Mabel a cantankerous old lady with a shady past? A cold-blooded killer with arthritis? Or just someone who’s finally ready to tell her side of the story?

Sharp, surprising, and wickedly funny, this is the unforgettable story of a woman who’s spent a lifetime being underestimated—and is about to prove everyone wrong. Again.

Well, we’ve been open for about five months now and can I say, I am just grateful?

❤️ Grateful for those who find something to read
💜 Grateful for those who leave something to read
🩵 Grateful for those who give a puzzle a try
💚 Grateful for those who just stop by

I do not see most of the little library guests, so it’s the sweetest surprise to check it now and then and see new reads or realize that books are finding new homes. 😊

Here are a few of the people that I do know have given books or puzzles to our little library, and I would like to say thanks! ☺️

🙌 Thank you to: Erin Cornell, Mary Louise Curry Stephens, Kandice Nicole, Anna Studstill, Penguin Random House, Nelson Books, Charlotte Foreman, Julie Korff, and Diann Pospisil. AND all you secret givers out there, too! 👏

📚 Keep on coming by, y’all.

I plan to get lost in one today!

Who agrees? 💕

Oh Dolly, we are missing you already. 😭

🙏 Thank you for leading with kindness, for inspiring us to reach our dreams, for the gift of your songs (and your sassiness), and for gifting OVER 300 MILLION children’s books through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library!

Thank you for believing that stories matter. ❤️
Lives have been changed, and we are grateful for you and your legacy.

❤️ There’s some pretty good stuff in the library today!
👀 Come take a look.
💐 Also, peep the bouquet I made tonight with flowers from the “you pick” patch right around the library.
🪧 This is your sign to come by.
