OMAG
Providing Oklahoma municipalities the best in liability, auto, property, workers' compensation, and other specialty coverages.
OMAG was formed in 1977 by cities and towns needing life and health coverage for their employees. As our members needs have changed through the years we have added liability, workers' compensation and property coverages to our family of plans. From our humble beginnings with only two municipalities, we have grown today to an organization that provides services to over 500 cities. We are uniquely qualified to be a partner to municipalities in their risk exposures and help reduce their losses – Oklahoma is our only market and municipalities are our only customers. Collectively, our staff has over 200 years of municipal experience; experience that enables us to understand your unique problems and to provide superior customer service for all of your risk financing needs. We’re not just another insurance company competing for your business - we are an organization owned and governed by the cities and towns we serve.

OMAG’s Digital Engagement & Media Manager, Matt Burleson, took the stage at the 2026 AGRiP Staff Institute in Minneapolis to present “Using AI to Rebuild Your Pool’s Website.”
Matt shared how AI can be used as a practical tool to rethink and improve a pool’s digital presence, drawing from real-world experience and lessons learned along the way.
The AGRiP Staff Institute brings pooling professionals from across the country together to share ideas, explore emerging issues, and find practical solutions to the challenges pools face today.
We’re proud to see OMAG represented in these conversations and to have Matt sharing his knowledge with fellow pooling professionals!

The Lethality Assessment Protocol (LAP) gives Oklahoma law enforcement a practical, proactive tool for identifying victims of intimate partner violence who may be at high risk of serious injury or death, and connecting them with victim service providers at the scene.
Through our partnership with the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office, LAP training is available to law enforcement agencies across the state. Agencies can host a training for their team or take advantage of statewide virtual sessions designed to fit a variety of schedules.
Training is available in person or virtually and qualifies for two hours of CLEET continuing education, including mental health credit.
Explore the graphics to learn more about LAP, upcoming virtual training opportunities, and how to bring training to your agency.

OMAG was proud to be part of the OML Annual Conference last week. We enjoyed catching up with familiar faces, meeting new municipal leaders, sharing resources, and having conversations about the work happening in cities and towns across our state.
Events like this are a great reminder of what makes Oklahoma’s municipal community so special. The opportunity to learn from one another, build relationships, and work together to better serve our communities.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit with the OMAG team, and thank you to OML for bringing municipal professionals from across Oklahoma together. We’re already looking forward to next year!

OMAG is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Carter, City Manager in Sand Springs, to the OMAG Board of Trustees.
Mike brings extensive municipal leadership experience, having served as both a police chief and city manager. His law enforcement background will be especially valuable to the Board as OMAG continues to work with member municipalities on law enforcement risk, claims trends, training, and loss prevention.
His experience leading both a police department and a municipality gives him a unique perspective on the challenges our members face, and we look forward to the insight he will bring to the Board.
Please join us in welcoming Mike to the OMAG Board of Trustees!
