Baseball Showcase

Caleb Croxton #8 (Desert Vista High School, Class of 2030 | PFA) came up clutch in the top of the last inning, ripping an RBI single deep into the gap to give PFA an extra insurance run and help them hold onto the lead. Croxton has been one of the hotter bats all weekend, consistently putting together quality swings and finding ways to come through in big spots. Behind the plate, he’s a steady presence defensively, doing a great job handling the pitching staff, receiving the ball cleanly, and showing the leadership you want from a catcher.

Jaden Villarreal (Marana High School, Class of 2026) stayed within himself at the plate, driving an opposite-field double to showcase his ability to handle the whole field and impact the game with his bat. Villarreal brings a strong combination of power and athleticism, showing the ability to drive the ball with authority while consistently creating hard contact. Along with his offensive tools, he adds another dimension with his speed on the base paths, putting pressure on defenses and using his athleticism to create extra opportunities for his team.

Max Ortega (Mountain View High School, Class of 2027 | Majestics) delivered a big-time swing in the middle of the game, driving a triple over the left fielder’s head to bring home a run and keep the Majestics offense rolling. Ortega shows impressive power and the ability to drive the ball to all parts of the field, consistently creating hard contact and impacting the game with his bat. Behind the plate, he is a strong presence with a powerful arm, showing the ability to control the game defensively while providing great leadership and communication as a catcher.

Joey Durazo #17 and Jackson Potter #7 (Canyon del Oro High School, Class of 2028 & 2027 | Tucson Pacesetters) came through with back-to-back singles to keep the Pacesetters’ offense rolling. Durazo showed a smooth swing and a good ability to stay on the baseball, finding the barrel and delivering quality contact when his team needed it. Potter followed with a clutch hit of his own, showing a balanced approach and a short, direct swing that helped him put pressure on the defense. Both players stepped up in a big moment and helped keep the rally alive.

Cole Barbor (Cactus Shadows High School, Class of 2028 | Trosky) stayed with his approach late in the game, driving an RBI double to help Trosky keep the offense going in the final inning. Barbor shows a strong feel for the strike zone and a high baseball IQ at the plate, consistently putting together quality at-bats and finding ways to get on base. Defensively, he’s a versatile player who can move around the field and provide value wherever he’s needed, making smart plays and showing a dependable glove.

Bode Baker #10 (Mountain View High School, Class of 2028 | Majestics) kept the offense rolling with an RBI single the other way, continuing the Majestics’ big inning. Baker has a pure swing with a controlled load that keeps him balanced and allows him to stay through the baseball, and there’s some real pop in the bat when he gets his pitch. In the outfield, he moves well, takes efficient routes to the baseball, and shows the awareness to consistently put himself in good defensive positions.
