❤️🐾 ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK: ROCKY 🐾❤️

💔 All Rocky wants is a family who won't give up on him.

Rocky is a 2-year-old, 30-pound mixed breed who once knew what it was like to have a warm, loving home. Unfortunately, when his family moved, they left him behind. Since November 2025, Rocky has been waiting at our shelter for someone to give him a second chance.

He has attended countless adoption events with us, hoping that one day someone would stop, notice him, and choose him. But time after time, Rocky has been overlooked. Despite all the disappointment, he still has so much love to give. ❤️

Rocky is a big fan of hugs and loves showing affection to the people around him. He gets along with female dogs and some male dogs, making him a wonderful potential companion for the right family. He is also fully vaccinated and ready to go home! 🐾

Sadly, Rocky has spent far too long waiting for his happily ever after. We are reaching a point where we simply cannot continue keeping dogs for over a year while so many others need help. Rocky deserves a home, not a kennel. He deserves a family who will love him for the rest of his life.

Please, don't let Rocky spend another month watching other dogs find their forever homes while he waits. He has already lost the family he once knew. He deserves the chance to know what it feels like to be chosen again. 🥺❤️

ADOPTION FEE: FREE!

Rocky is fully vaccinated and ready to meet his forever family!

🌟🐾 SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK: LUNA 🐾🌟

💔 How is this sweet girl still waiting?

Meet Luna, a beautiful 1–2-year-old mixed-breed girl who has been at Elbert County Animal Control since November 2025. She has spent months watching other dogs come and go while she waits for someone to finally choose her.

Luna is the kind of dog who makes your heart hurt when you think about how long she has been waiting. ❤️

She loves giving hugs, walks beautifully on a leash, and is so gentle and polite around children. She will sit patiently and let little hands pet her. She is good with other dogs and gets along with cats, too.

She has so much love to give. She just needs someone to give her a chance.

🚨 And Luna's story is becoming a much bigger problem for our shelter.

We cannot continue keeping dogs for a year or longer. Our kennels are staying full, new dogs continue to come through our doors, and we are reaching a point where we are going to be forced to make tough decisions that we desperately do not want to make.

We are working every day to get dogs into rescues, fosters, and forever homes, but we cannot do this without our community.

We need people to ADOPT. FOSTER. RESCUE. SHARE.
Every kennel that opens gives another dog a chance.

🙏 Please help us get our dogs OUT.

Luna has already waited long enough. She shouldn't have to s wonder when her family is coming for her.

🏡 Could you be Luna's forever?

Two young dogs showed up on a property on Bullards ferry rd. The property owner can not keep them. We are unable to bring them into the shelter due to us being completely out of kennel space. If these babies belong to you or you know who they belong to please let us know!

🐾 3 Sweet Boys Looking for Homes! 🐾

Meet Stetson, Scout & Stumpy! These three boys are around 2–3 years old, 20–30 lbs, and all currently intact.

🤎 Stetson & Scout are a little shy at first, but once they warm up, they are incredibly sweet and respectful.

🐶 Stumpy is believed to be a Dachshund/Beagle mix. He is well-mannered, walks great on a leash, and is crate trained. We are unsure if he is housebroken. He is heartworm positive, but heartworm is treatable!

🐕 All three boys do well with other dogs but are not cat-friendly.

🏠 Our shelter is filling up, and we desperately need kennel space for incoming dogs. These boys deserve the chance to leave the shelter and find families of their own.

Please consider adopting or fostering one of these sweet boys! ❤️🐾
