Educators Rising is a diverse, student-led group that aims to inspire their fellow students to serve their communities through the field of education. Educators Risings assists aspiring educators for children of all ages by practicing the necessary skills to lead a classroom or child care center while also offering opportunities for involvement in activities based around education and children. With all the changes to education that are taking place in the 2026-2027 school year, becoming involved with children in our local communities is more important than ever!

Elgin Community College’s chapter is called EdRising and is under the leadership of ECC Faculty members Deyana Matt and Dawn Munson. EdRising will be active this year starting in September as we will be hosting virtual as well as in-person activities that involve children in our communities through childcare centers and schools as well as discussions with other early childhood and education professionals.
