Helping make "that time of the month" one less stress on individuals experiencing homelessness or living with financial limitations

Period poverty is the inability to afford or access menstrual hygiene products, washroom facilities, and the lack of period education affecting roughly 2 in 5 people who menstruate in the United States.

Inadequate period supplies or unsafe substitutions increase the risk of bacterial infections, urinary tract infections, and toxic shock syndrome.

You can help support our mission to make period products accessible to those in need within Kane County. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2U7ZHDKW4LU27?ref_=wl_share

Last week Carrie was invited to speak to the Women of the Moose Batavia Chapter 722 about how we got started, period poverty and our contributions to the community. The Women of the Moose generously collected and awarded us with a check for $600 to further support our effort to make period products available to Kane County students.

A heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to the Women of the Moose for supporting our mission so generously!

When we hand someone a package of pads, we are giving them more than a monthly supply of period products. We are providing a little bit of relief when finances are tight and ensuring that getting your period is not a burden.

Where were you when you got your first period? 🩸
For so many girls that first period comes when they least expect it. That is why we make Period Kits available to schools within Kane County.

Our Period Kits contain a new pair of cotton underwear, a couple of pads and a personal wipe in a reusable cosmetic bag. This allows a student to continue on with their day in comfort and with dignity.
Minus the dreaded shirt tied around their waist! (Anyone experience this? 🙋‍♀️🤦‍♀️)

January 2020 vs September 2026 ⬆
Same brand of tampons, same quantity count, same store.
Definitely not the same price!

❗❗Today's prices have increased by nearly 44% ❗❗
$9.39....That's a hard purchase to make when the rent is due, the car needs repairs, the kids need school supplies and day to day expenses exceed your income.

🩸We are here to ease the burden of purchasing period products on individuals experincing financial limitations. Request a donation:

Welcome all those that are new to our page! Let me introduce our mission, Go with the Flow is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2017 to bring awareness to period poverty and make essential period products, new underwear and toiletries accessible to those in need throughout Kane County, Illinois.

1 in 5 menstruators report missing school, extracurricular activities and work due to period related symptoms and the lack of period products. Imagine for a moment, having to take public transportation and/or walk a couple miles to the nearest convenience store to purchase a package of pads. Or not having enough money to purchase a package of period products so instead you beg, borrow, steal or go without something as basic as a pad or tampon. Now imagine you were forced to go without a pad or tampon, what would it be like not to have a change of underwear for every day of the week? With the rising cost of living, the lack of accessible stores and public transportation this is a reality for many menstruators in our community.

Since our founding, we have distributed 528,026 period products through partnerships with organizations such as Community Crisis Center In Elgin, Elgin YWCA, Open Door, various Mercy Housing locations, CHIP in Batavia, the D300 Food Pantry, Hesed House in Aurora, Kane County justice system, Kane County middle & high schools, micro pantries scattered across the county and directly to those in need.

We like to take a "boots on the ground" approach. Meeting people where they're at. You will frequently see us providing "pop up shops" at community dinners, holiday events and within a partnered community orgs. Our "Pop up Shops" are always FREE of charge to all those involved. We provide an opportunity for attendees and guests to "shop" from a large selection of period products, toiletries and underwear for the products they need the most and prefer to use. This enables an individual to take control of their personal and menstrual hygiene. Providing dignity and self confidence while encouraging better attendance in school and the work place.

GWTF is run solely by the power of volunteers and word of mouth.

The "School Supply" Drive and summer period product distributions dwindled down our inventory. Can you help us restock so we can continue to provide period products to individuals, schools, shelters, community organizations and micro-pantries?
