On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of participating in the ILA Local1235 Foundation Golf Outing alongside my son, Manny Grova III. We had a great time playing golf! ⛳️

It was an honor to support the hardworking men and women who keep the Elizabeth/Newark waterfront running and play a vital role in moving the world’s goods. ⚓

I'm proud to see Los Caché y Algo Más, a softball team made up of Dominicans from Elizabeth, getting ready for their upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic this November! ⚾🇩🇴

It was an honor to support the team with their new uniforms as they prepare to represent Elizabeth and take part in softball exchanges across the Dominican Republic. Wishing the entire team safe travels and a great experience! Thank you, B&K Liquors for your support.

Me llena de orgullo apoyar a nuestros atletas de Elizabeth mientras llevan con orgullo el nombre de nuestra ciudad a la República Dominicana. ¡Mucho éxito en noviembre! 👏

I had the opportunity to catch the New York Giants’ season opener against division rivals, the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium. Great night for football and a great way to kick off the season! Great job New York Giants, 28-20! 👏💙🏈

Nothing beats being in the stadium, surrounded by fellow fans and enjoying the energy of game day! 🙌

I’m proud to support Isaias Rivera, Council-Elect for the Second Ward. 🤝

Isaias is going to be a great addition to our City Council come January. I know he’s going to do great things for the Second Ward and for the residents he’ll represent.

Public service is not an easy job. It takes someone who is responsive, responsible, willing to listen, and, importantly, willing to pick up the phone when residents need help. Those are qualities I’ve already seen in Isaias and I look forward to working with him.

Wishing him the very best in the November General Election! 👏🇺🇸

The Elizabeth City Council has voted unanimously to prohibit data centers as a permitted use in all zone districts throughout the City of Elizabeth.

As Council President, I supported Ordinance No. 6314 because our land-use policies must reflect the health, safety, and quality of life of our residents.

The ordinance recognizes the significant demands data centers can place on electricity, water, sewer infrastructure, and surrounding communities, particularly in a densely populated city like Elizabeth. It also establishes clear definitions for data centers and accessory server rooms while prohibiting data centers in all city zones.

Importantly, the ordinance still allows accessory server rooms in non-residential zones when they directly support the primary business on the property, are not operated primarily for third-party services such as cloud computing or cryptocurrency mining, and remain limited to 10% of the building’s gross floor area or 1,000 square feet, whichever is less.

This is responsible land-use planning that considers Elizabeth’s infrastructure, natural resources, and the long-term interests of our residents.

Today, we remember September 11, 2001, and the 2,977 lives that were taken far too soon. 🇺🇸

We honor the victims, their families, the first responders, and all those who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable loss.

May we never forget. 🕊️
