Your friends noticed you were off before anyone in a white coat did.

They followed up. They asked the second question. They remembered what you told them in March and circled back in May. They know which symptom scared you and which one you're pretending not to think about.

That's not an indictment of medicine β€” it's an accurate description of what an eleven-minute appointment cannot do. Continuity, memory, and noticing are not extras. They're the actual mechanism by which problems get caught early.

You deserve medical care that behaves the way your best friendships already do.

You know exactly which chat. Put this in it. β€” Dr. Georgine Nanos, MD, MPH

After more than 20 years as a physician, one question tells me more than almost anything else.
"What are you most worried this could be.?"

Every patient walks into my office carrying something I can't see. Fear. Guilt. Grief. Shame. Something they read online at 2am. The memory of watching someone they love become sick.

Miss that, and you miss the real reason they came.

Patients rarely come to the doctor because of a symptom. They come because of what they think that symptom might mean.
If you don't understand her fear, you never fully understand the patient.

The symptoms tell me where to look.
Her story tells me where to begin. πŸ’™

Right now, we can only effectively screen for four or five cancers. Breast. Colon. Cervical. Prostate. Lung.
Every one of those requires its own separate test.

Which means the cancers that kill most quietly aren't found until someone develops symptoms. By then we're often looking at stage three or four.
That's the gap the Galleri test was built for.

Cancer cells shed tiny fragments of their own DNA into your bloodstream. A single blood draw, done in your doctor's office, screens for over 50 cancers by looking for those fragments.

Two major studies published this week. In Pathfinder 2, across the US and Canada, it detected six and a half times more cancers than standard screening β€” and caught them at stages one through three. A separate UK study of roughly 142,000 people found similar results, with very few false positives.

The FDA advisory committee just moved it forward toward approval. It's widely available now, though not yet covered by insurance.
This doesn't replace your mammogram or your colonoscopy. It's another layer.

We treat early cancer well. Finding it early is the whole game.
Dr. Nanos shared all of this on K**I. Check out Youtube for the full segment.

"I thought I did everything right."

A patient in his late 40s had finished multiple Ironmans. Ran, biked, and swam thousands of miles a year. Didn't smoke. Wasn't overweight.
One morning, on an easy training ride, he had a heart attack. Days later, emergency bypass surgery.
He did a lot right. But heart disease had been building in his arteries for years, without a single symptom.

Here's how it happens. LDL cholesterol slips into the artery wall. Your immune system moves in to clean it up. Over decades, that inflammation builds plaque. One day a plaque ruptures, a clot forms, and blood flow to the heart stops.

Fitness is powerful protection. It isn't immunity.

The goal isn't surviving your first heart attack. It's never having one.

Dr. Kim Bell, a vestibular physical therapist who has spent 20 years solving vertigo, mentioned almost in passing that women in their fifties are the most common group to develop vertigo spontaneously. Her very first vertigo patient, decades ago, was a woman in her mid-50s.

There are estrogen receptors in your inner ear. Estrogen regulates the calcium metabolism of the tiny crystals that sit in there, the ones that tell your brain which way is up. And when estrogen falls, the protein matrix that holds those crystals in place degrades. They get fragile. They come loose. Loose crystals in the inner ear are the single most common cause of vertigo there is.

So it is not bad luck that this shows up in your fifties. It is the same hormonal shift that is changing your sleep and your bones and your skin, showing up in a place nobody thinks to connect it to.

Sleep. Mood. Weight. Energy. Four appointments, four specialists, four explanations

This is the story we hear most often with patients: each symptom got its own doctor but no one makes the connections between them.

If you've ever left a specialist's office with one more prescription and the quiet feeling that nobody's watching the big picture, you're not imagining the gap.

Everything is connected, and we look at every story that way.

The most underrated treatment in our office? Morgan doesn't hesitate: the CoolPeel.

It's our lowest-intensity DEKA CO2 setting, but lowest intensity does not mean lowest results. It doesn't go as deep as our other DEKA treatments, and it's still transformative on sun damage and pigmentation.

Madi tried it and couldn't believe her own before and after: pigment lifted, brightness back, about three days of downtime.
"Kind of like a three-day weekend."

Madi's pick: the HydraFacial. The vortex fusion machine pulls everything out of your pores, then bathes the skin in hydration, with acids to exfoliate and boosters for plumping and brightening. It's an investment, and the people who've done it keep rebooking it.

Two providers, two favorites, one shelf they'd both point you to.
