đź’› Thank You, Ennis! đź’›
I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support since announcing Virginia’s Little Free Library.
So many of you have reached out asking how you can help, especially by donating books. Thank you! Your generosity and willingness to continue Mrs. Virginia Phillips’ legacy means more than I can express.
At this time, we will begin collecting books for the library. All genres will be accepted and must be in good shape. Please message me if you’d like to drop off books!
Thank you for celebrating Mrs. Phillips, her family, and her incredible legacy with us. It’s clear she touched the lives of so many, and together we’ll make sure her love of reading continues to inspire our community for years to come.
Please continue to follow along as we bring Virginia’s Little Free Library to life, one chapter at a time. 💛

A New Chapter for Our Community
If you grew up in Ennis or taught here, chances are you knew Mrs. Virginia Phillips.
Mrs. Phillips dedicated over 50 years to education, including 34 years teaching English Language Arts at Ennis Junior High. Even after retiring in 2020, she continued returning to campus because she simply loved being with students and fellow educators.
While she was an incredible teacher, those who knew her know she was so much more. She was a mentor, a friend, and "Gammie" to not only her three granddaughters but to countless students and colleagues whose lives she touched. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen, welcomed, and encouraged.
It is with great honor, and with the blessing of her family, that One Last Chapter will establish Virginia's Little Free Library at Rotary Park.
Our hope is that this little library will continue what Mrs. Phillips loved most: putting books into the hands of others, encouraging a love of reading, and creating a place where our community can gather through stories.
One Last Chapter will proudly maintain and restock the library each week, ensuring that her legacy continues for generations to come.
Details on the library's construction, placement, and dedication will be shared as plans come together. Follow along as we bring Virginia's Little Free Library to life, one chapter at a time.
Because some stories deserve to be shared forever!
Please help us share this exciting news with your family and friends as we honor Mrs. Phillips’ legacy and continue her love of reading throughout our community.

📚 Calling All Ellis County First-Year Teachers! 📚
One of my favorite things about being both a teacher and a bookstore owner is helping students discover a love of reading. As a former first-year teacher, I know how quickly the cost of building a classroom library adds up.
This year, One Last Chapter would love to bless one first-year teacher in Ellis County with 5 books to help start or grow their classroom library.
✨ Know a teacher who deserves to be nominated? Tell me:
đź“– Their name and school
đź“– The grade or subject they teach
📖 Why you’re nominating them
This isn’t a random drawing. I’ll personally read every nomination and choose the teacher whose story speaks to me and whose classroom I believe these books can make an impact in.
đź“… Nominations close: Sunday, July 26th
Let’s come together to support a first-year teacher and help create a classroom where students can discover the joy of reading. ❤️
Nominees must be first-year teachers in Ellis County!
Even though I own a bookstore and spend a lot of time researching books, I want to hear from YOU!
I’m heading on a beach trip and I need a book that will pull me in, wreck me emotionally, and get me completely out of this reading slump.
Give me your best recommendations! I want the kind of book that makes you stay up way too late, cry a little, and think about it long after you finish.
What book completely broke your heart in the best way?
Sweated through this entire video, but here’s your Texas summer bookstore update! 🥵
The heat has us pressing pause on most pop-ups because books and 100° weather don’t mix.
You can still support One Last Chapter by:
📖 Ordering directly from me; I can order your book and deliver it if you’re local.
📦 Shopping my Bookshop.org/onelastchapterbooks storefront to have books shipped straight to your door.
Thank you for supporting my little bookstore, even during the Texas heat! 🤍

We are excited to bring this community project to life. We are currently in the beginning stages and working on the finishing touches and design.
A special thank you to Oliver Martinez with OLVR Flexbuilds LLC for donating this Little Free Library back to the community 🤍
Now we need your help.
We would love to make this little library feel bookish, welcoming, and community driven. If you know a local artist who would love to paint it for us, we would be thrilled to connect 🎨
✨What color should we paint it?
✨What should it look like?
✨Any theme ideas for Rotary Park?
✨Do you have a favorite book quote we could feature? 📖
Drop your ideas in the comments! 👇🏽
We want this to be something the whole community helps create!! If you’re in the Ennis area, please share with your friends! 🫶🏼
