We’re putting together the first ELT Pop-Up Night Market for Thursday, August 6.

I’m keeping this first one fairly small and simple: one evening, a handful of artists, makers, writers, creative businesses, and food vendors filling the building with things they actually make and do.

This isn’t meant to be a giant festival right out of the gate. I’d rather start with something good, learn from it, and build from there.

The market runs from 6–10 PM at Erie Labor Temple, 1701 State Street. Vendor tables are only $10, and I still have room for a few more people.

If you make art, books, prints, ceramics, jewelry, clothing, strange objects, food, or something else people ought to know about, send me a message or email [email protected].

The Working Score — A Hand-Bound Composer’s Journal | Erie Labor Temple 07/16/2026

Here's one more new Bookforge item in the Erie Labor Temple online store!

A book for the moment when music is still half-heard.

The Working Score pairs college-ruled writing pages with eight-staff music pages, giving composers, songwriters, musicians, and musical thinkers one place for melody, language, structure, and revision. Write lyrics and notes between the staves, or connect them to create bass-and-treble grand staffs.

Hand-bound by Edward Patrick Kranz at the BOOKFORGE bindery studio in Erie Labor Temple, the journal is half-bound in dark brown goatskin and rust Asahi bookcloth, with mint Hahnemühle Bugra made endpapers, hand-sewn endbands, and a linen-sewn textblock.

A composition book built with the seriousness of the work it is meant to hold.

The Working Score — A Hand-Bound Composer’s Journal | Erie Labor Temple Before a song becomes a performance, it exists in fragments. A phrase written in the margin. A melody caught before it disappears. Three lines of lyric without a chorus. A chord change, a question, a rhythm tapped against the table. Music rarely arrives in a straight line. The Working Score was buil...

The Cambridge Perpetual — A Hand-Bound Dateless Journal | Erie Labor Temple 07/15/2026

A journal made for a lifetime of unfinished thoughts.

Hand-bound by Edward Patrick Kranz in the BOOKFORGE bindery studio, this 6 × 9-inch bullet journal draws its form from seventeenth-century Cambridge bindings. Full calf leather, raised cords, traditional blind tooling, hand-sewn endbands, and marbled papers by master marbler Renato Crepaldi give the book the gravity of an object built to endure.

Inside, 240 pages of BOOKFORGE-designed, dateless planning pages let you begin, pause, and begin again—without wasting a single month.

A working book with an old soul.

BOOKFORGE people understand this kind of work.

Rooms do not become useful by accident. Tables need to be cleared. Supplies need to be sorted. Walls need to be prepped. Systems need to be built. Details need to be handled before anyone gets to do the beautiful part.

Erie Labor Temple is in build mode before reopening this fall, and we are organizing volunteer crews for practical, useful work.

Good fits from the BOOKFORGE orbit:
• patient hands
• detail people
• workshop helpers
• organizers
• cleaners
• room-prep people
• people who can follow a clear process
• people who like making workspaces actually work
