Open Table Church

With deep appreciation for those who’ve shared our table, great memories of the laughter and prayers that filled our spaces, of the healing moments, thoughtful liturgies we spoke together, and ways we each grew, Open Table Church announces a final gathering on Sunday, August 2 at 11:00am. Join us one more time for worship, communion, and sharing of testimonies of how the Lord has been at work among us. Lunch will be provided after service, so your RSVP is appreciated. Hello friends,

This weekend is our final outreach weekend. We are doing a donation effort with the following organizations here in town, and we'll gather Sunday as house church at 10am to pray, worship, discuss needs in our community, and how we go forward with generosity as "citizens of heaven" (Phil 1:27) while here on earth. We will also have a few blessing bags and things to give you to distribute over the coming weeks.

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN BRING ON SUNDAY:

SCHOOL SUPPLIES: With Les Schwab: donate backpacks and school supplies. The most-needed items include backpacks, notebooks, folders, crayons, colored pencils, markers, highlighters, pens, pencils, glue sticks, scissors, pencil boxes and rulers. You can bring them to our house for house church and I'll drop them off at Les Schwab on Monday. CLOTHING FOR KIDS: New and like-new used clothing that is clean, has no blemishes (stains, tears, pilling), and would be something a child or teen would like to wear. We can accept kids sizes 5t-18, and adult sizes XS-4XL. This will go to kids in Foster Care via Every Child. https://everychildoregon.org/lane/store/

– Fashionable tops for teen girls, women’s sizes SM – 4XL
– Teen boy t-shirts (graphic, name brand, and plain), men’s sizes SM – 4XL
– Cute tops for girls sizes 5T – 18 (XL)
– Boys’ graphic t-shirts sizes 5T – 18 (XL)


FOR THE EUGENE MISSION: We will collect and bring in the following:

· new socks, underwear, hygiene supplies;
· new or used twin-size bed linens in good condition;
· new or gently-used practical shoes, coats, and clothing
· household goods (dishes, small appliances like toasters or mixers, other bedding)

If you have other items to donate, I encourage you to bring them to a donation center. I think the above is all we can facilitate as a group. I also encourage you to talk to friends and neighbors to see if they’d like to help. It could be a good way to meet your neighbors if you don’t know them, or spark conversation. Many people have good intentions and don’t know how to pull it off. We can help facilitate that!

We had so much fun this weekend as a church, making freezer meals for Foster Care families and putting together Encouragement Boxes for families to be delivered through Every Child Lane County. Dropped everything off this morning!

Our June Outreach is this weekend! We are putting together some things to bless foster care kids and host families.
