Positive Community Kitchen is a Eugene/Springfield based non-profit providing free healthy meals to people with life threatening illnesses.
To volunteer, donate or learn more, visit us at www.PositiveCommunityKitchen.org

This program is based on an award winning model in Northern California that is replicating itself around the country (see ceresproject.org). Thousands of teens have already been trained in this model and the program has proven to increase participants skills, self confidence and feelings of belonging โ€“ while also making a difference in the well-being of the food recipients. Teens can earn community service/ volunteer hours for their work at Positive Community Kitchen. They will be required to have an Oregon Food Handlers Card. Please contact PCK at our website www.positivecommunitykitchen.org.

The Harvest of Hope is coming up October 15 at the Eugene Country Club. We're raising money to help continue our mission of nourishing our neighbors facing health crises throughout the Eugene/Springfield area.

We wanted to say a special thank you to OCCU - Oregon Community Credit Union for investing in this event and in community wellbeing. ๐Ÿ’™

Did you know that peaches and nectarines are nearly biologically identical? The only difference is nectarines have a recessive gene that allows them to grow without the classic peach fuzz. Now you do!

What is your favorite way to enjoy a peach? ๐Ÿ‘

As the weather starts changing and the rain finds its way back into the PNW, so does the arrival of the "cozy food" season. This month's feature recipe in our September newsletter was our Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Soup. ๐Ÿซ‘๐Ÿ…
This soup is great to make while we still have local peppers and tomatoes, roasting them concentrates the flavor, making for an especially delicious way to appreciate this time of year! ๐Ÿ˜‹
