Keep your eyes peeled for when this book by Eugene author Valerie J. Brooks (https://valeriejbrooks.com/about/) lands in our Little Free Library.

One of the "Book Fairies" who leaves "ARC
(Advance Reader Copy") books in our Little Free Library must be someone you writes book reviews for upcoming or recently released books like this WWII historical novel published in March of this year which was left today. (https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/768665/the-shock-of-the-light-by-lori-inglis-hall/).

As National Little Free Library Week (May 17-23) kicks off you can help support Little Free Libraries by donating books to LFLs near you. Just check the LFL “World Map” (https://littlefreelibrary.org/map/) or download the LFL smartphone app (https://littlefreelibrary.org/app/) to locate the ones in Lane County.

If you don’t own books which you are able to donate, consider purchasing books the from the small, but excellent selection at incredibly low prices available at the Assistance League of Eugene Thrift Shop (https://www.assistanceleague.org/eugene/thrift-shop) or the larger inventory at good prices from St. Vinnie’s (https://www.svdp.us/st-vinnies-thrift-store/). Both organizations support our local communities through many programs.

It's not unusual for Little Free Library "patrons" (probably those living nearby for the most part) to leave a book or two in our LFL for others to read.

We have received a fair number of ARCs (Advance Reader Copy usually distributed to book reviewers before a book is released for sale) from publishers who give away copies of books to LFLs through the LFL organization.

But we seem to have a "Mystery Donor" who lives hear our LFL who must be a book reviewer and whom with some frequency leaves a ARC like this one (published in February of 2026) in our LFL.

New books (including this one) for adults just added.

But we need books for Young Adults and Younger Readers. Prefer trade paperbacks. Small picture books are ok; large ones don't fit.
