Passion for Clean Water: Delivering Integrated Water Treatment Solutions Through Turnkey Design, Equipment, and Service Packages

09/25/2026

from Alabama! Our field team recently set up this temporary sand filtration and granular activated carbon (GAC) treatment system for a confidential client. The system is treating cooling tower water for copper, providing a temporary treatment solution designed around the needs of the site and application. From temporary treatment needs to long term water challenges, our team works to deliver practical solutions that perform in the field.

Mahalo to the Hawaii Water Environment Association (HWEA) for a great couple of days of learning, collaboration, and connection at the 2026 HWEA Biosolids Conference! WaterTectonicsโ€™ PONO ASANO had the opportunity to present โ€œFacultative Lagoon Integrated Rehabilitation and Recovery Case Study,โ€ sharing how an integrated approach combining sonar bathymetry, lagoon dredging, equipment upgrades, and solar powered circulation and aeration is helping address long term water quality challenges at two wastewater lagoon systems in Hawaiสปi.

Pono was joined by WaterTectonics Technical Director Denney Eames, P.E., and Hawaiสปi Regional Senior Operations Manager Ron Overson. Together, the team enjoyed connecting with fellow wastewater professionals from across the islands and exchanging ideas around biosolids management, beneficial reuse, emerging technologies, and solutions for Hawaiสปiโ€™s unique water and wastewater challenges.

The experience continued Thursday with HWEAโ€™s field trip to the Honouliuli Wastewater Treatment Plant, where attendees toured the newly commissioned belt dryer facilities and learned more about the facilityโ€™s efforts around sludge drying, biogas utilization, and Class A EQ biosolids production.

Mahalo to HWEA, the presenters, attendees, and field trip hosts for the hospitality and for another valuable opportunity to learn, share, and connect with Hawaiสปiโ€™s water and wastewater community.
