Heat Advisory: October 2–8

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for our area from Friday, October 2, at 10:00 a.m. through Thursday, October 8, at 8:00 p.m.

FUESD continues to prioritize the health and safety of our students and will follow guidance from the California Department of Public Health. During periods of excessive heat, schools will limit outdoor play and strenuous physical activities as needed. Students will also be encouraged to stay hydrated throughout the school day.

We will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and make adjustments as necessary to help keep students and staff safe. We will communicate any additional updates if conditions or school operations are affected.

El Servicio Meteorológico Nacional ha emitido una **Advertencia de Calor Extremo para nuestra área desde el viernes 2 de octubre a las 10:00 a. m. hasta el jueves 8 de octubre a las 8:00 p. m.**

Live Oak Elementary celebrated **Start With Hello Week** with a special **Culture Day and Culture Show and Tell**! Students proudly shared clothing, traditions, and meaningful items that represented their cultures, creating opportunities to learn more about one another and build stronger connections across campus.

It was a wonderful celebration of culture, belonging, and the unique stories that make the Live Oak community so special.

Live Oak Elementary welcomed students and families for a wonderful Back to School Night!

Students were excited to show their families their classrooms and projects, while teachers connected with parents and shared a glimpse of what the 2026–27 school year will bring.

Principal Patti Parson proudly welcomed families and helped showcase all the great things that make Live Oak such a special school community. 💙

San Diego County has issued a heat advisory from Tuesday, August 25, at 10:00 a.m. through Friday, August 28, at 8:00 p.m. FUESD is prioritizing the health and safety of our students and will be following the guidelines from the California Department of Public Health. We will be limiting outside play and suspending any strenuous physical activities until temperatures return to a safe level. Additionally, we will be encouraging students to stay hydrated throughout the day.
