This message is for Two-Mommy-Tommy, only.
You pesky humans, just keep scrolling- bye π..
Tommy, my name is Not-Amendable-To-Men Audrey and I am here to stand in solidarity with you. βοΈβοΈ
I, too, understand the frustrations of wanting a mommies-only home and i am SO SORRY for all those dumb Comment-Carl's who couldn't just shut up and keep scrolling.
You're a big, brave, smart boy and deserve whatever your heart truly desires in a FURever home. No matter how many tiny egos it hurts.
Don't let lame, internet dwelling 2-leggers try to tell you you're discriminating. Many of them have preferences on what gender they share their lives with too. Freaking hypocrites π.
I truly hope you find that absolutely-meant- to-be fairytale ending you so deserve, and im here if you ever need to vent out the bu****it. β€οΈ its a tough world out there, and I just want you to know I love you and I see you.
π¬ And absolutely no biggie bro, but if you happen to have "extra" super-awesome applicants after you find your perfect family, maybe someone in the northern nevada area... ya know, maybe point them my way.
I'm a sweet girl who gets along with derpy male dogs (who can appreciate im a little on the spectrum), i don't pay the cats much attention, and I too, do not want to live with any human dudes. I am not a threat to them, but I can pull some crazy cirque du soleil s**t to avoid them. You know that game The Floor is Lava? Yeah, men are lava is my game.
Im crate trained, have my basic obedience down and i am an all-around good girl, if i do say so myself. I just need a/some lady/ies π³οΈβπ willing to make me a part of their family and take me on adventures to keep building my confidence.
I know your perfect lady-friends are out there, im rooting for you Tommy!
Omg, you guys!!!!!!!! π²π²π²

π WE DID IT β 10 MONTHLY FOOD SPONSORS!!!! π
We are incredibly grateful to every single person who stepped up to make this happen. β€οΈ You truly cannot know what this means to us. Having our monthly food needs covered changes things for High Sierra K9 Rescueβit means less time worrying about fundraising for food and more time, energy, and resources devoted to the dogs in our care.
You didn't just sponsor dog food. You gave us something incredibly valuable: time. Time to rescue, rehabilitate, train, care for, and love these dogs.
From all of us at High Sierra K9 Rescueβand especially the dogsβTHANK YOU. πΎβ€οΈ

When the "easy" part of the road becomes a lake π€£π€£ this is about 1/2 of one of the flooded spots... but apparently fallon-proper didnt get any rain at all π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ for reference- that water comes up to the bottom of the door π¦
Just another day on the farm β€οΈ

ππ Lol, I have a good problem.........
We have finally run out of martingale collars, extra leashes, microchips and dog tags!!!
Why is that a good problem? Because that means we've had ADOPTIONS!!!! πππππ
We have at least one more adoption happening this upcoming week β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ (dont worry, we will make the announcements, we just like to give it a few days to make sure everything is kosher)...
Do you guys think you could help me restock our bins?
Martingale collars (I prefer the ones with NO buckles) run about $12.
Leashes run about $10.
Micorchips are $40 for a box.
And we get a box of 100 dog tags for $100!
Thats $33 per dog- Microchipped, collar and leash to go home with and a dog tag just in case! That's not all we send our dogs home with, but thats the most important parts.
Whether you can sponsor 1 collar or leash, a box of microchips, or toss in a dollar toward the box of dog tags, we love and appreciate you so much!!
If you're not able to donate, sharing gets us seen!

Dog movies are cool.
The dogs in movies are cool.
Getting a dog because of a movie is *not* cool.
If you see a movie with a badass dog in it and you feel like you would like to own that breed, just do me a favor....
Find a rescue that specializes in that breed. Give them a call or send them a message. Get the real scoop on the breed, its needs and *specifically ask* what the worst that could happen is. Maybe try out fostering an adult version of the breed you want for a little bit. REALLY immerse yourself in all things that-breed.
Rescues and shelters need volunteers and i can all but guarantee the breed youre interested is in one.
Many shelter dogs have been failed by humans- this will give you an idea of what happens to a dog of that breed, mentally and physically, when you can't or don't fulfill your duties as their steward. All those dogs started out as cute little puppies, blank slates, before humans failed them.
Its not ALL about exercise or size of yard.
Make sure if youre getting a dog:
You can match their energy.
You can maintain their grooming.
You can give them positive outlets for their breed-specific instincts.
The dog in the movie? **thousands** of hours of consistent training.
Hours of mental and physical exercise.
PROPER socialization- that dog doesnt run up to other dogs or people. It cares about its handler above all distractions. Why? Because thats how much effort that handler has put into their relationship with that dog.
I am NOT saying you HAVE to adopt a dog. Of course I would prefer that- theres a movie with a German Shepherd coming out and boy do we have a bunch of good German Shepherds right now (hint hint).
But, Buy the puppy if that's really where your heart is at. Just do it right- research the breeder. Check out the parents. Check out the living situation.
Make sure you're buying the BEST OF THE BEST. Be prepared to PAY for quality.
If you're going to sink money into buying a puppy from a breeder, dont wind up looking like fool with a knock-off, or try jumping all-in on a Lamborghini if you can only drive and maintain a moped....
get yourself the best quality puppy out there. Take pride in the breed, become a breed-snob.
Look for titles, look for genetic testing, look for the breeders who have good and bad reviews- see what people are really saying about pups they purchased from that breeder.
But also, once you commit....... do your part. Buying a quality puppy from a GREAT breeder is only the first part. The rest is up to YOU and that dogs behaviors solely rest on YOU once they're home.
Train them. Bond with them. Make them a full part of your family and daily life. Become the person who everyone envies because their dog is so perfect. Make people jealous of the bond you have with your dog.
Thank you for coming to my talk.
