Nutrition At Its Roots
Hey, I’m Lauren! I’m a Registered Dietitian passionate about giving you back your food confidence
One important step that people tend to leave out of their beauty routine? A focus on fiber and gut health! honeybear brands Pazazz Apple
If you have followed me, you know that I have been on quite the skin health journey. While dialing in my topical products was key, I also found that it was incredibly helpful to focus on what I COULD do with my diet instead of focusing on the foods the internet said I SHOULD NOT eat in the name of skin health. Restriction wasn’t helpful for me, so I focused on addition instead.
Gut health is closely tied to overall health, including our skin health. When your gut is healthy, it can help lower inflammation in your body, increase absorption of vitamins and minerals, plus it can help your skin retain better moisture levels. When I started focusing on gut health, I began to incorporate a lot more high fiber foods into my diet like apples. One medium apple has 4.4 grams of fiber in it and is the perfect base for nutritious snacks or addition to balanced recipes. Beyond its fiber content, apples are also nutrient dense and 85% water, making them a hydrating snack as well.
Beauty from within starts with what you put on your plate!
This may shock you, but pens for cows actually provide a perfect environment to ensure comfort and health. I know, I know, that’s very contrasted to what you have been led to believe.
These cows have a diet that’s been designed by a nutritionist to perfectly match their needs. They can have misters and fans in the summer, or siding on barns that closes up to keep them warm in cold winters. Fresh bedding, fresh water, and fresh feeds keeps them comfortable and healthy! Vets are also able to easily check on these cows, monitor health, and separate any that need more individual attention. Healthy cows are happy and productive cows!
But why is it always so slippery? Happy Monday, friends💛

June is Dairy Month, so we’re diving into all things dairy with my brand new, month long series!! 🥛
As a registered dietitian and a dairy farmer’s daughter, this conversation is not just a professional overview but also a personal story.
Because somewhere along the way, dairy became one of the most misunderstood foods on the internet.. and a lot of that misinformation stems from the fact that we get our farming advice from many people who have never been on a real farm 🤷🏼♀️
This series isn’t about convincing everyone to eat dairy.
And it’s not about ignoring the fact that nutrition is personal.
It is about cutting through the noise—
so you can make informed decisions about what works for you, your family, and your own personal diet preferences!
Over the next few weeks, we’re talking:
→ what’s actually in dairy
→ how it’s produced
→ common myths (and what the research actually says)
→ what it looks like in real life
My goal?
To give you the full picture—without fear, without pressure, and without misinformation.
If you’ve ever felt confused about dairy, you’re not alone.
Let’s talk about it.
