Jarvis Greer had a 43 year career at WMC-TV5 after playing football at then Memphis State University, where he earned a scholarship after walking on to chase his dream of becoming a Tiger.
He went to work with the legendary Jack Eaton, and stayed for 43 years, becoming a nightly fixture on Memhis Television.
He has been honored for his outstanding work in broadcasting many times over, and became a legend in his own right. He is a Member of the Memphis Sports Hall of Fame.
Jarvis Greer has always been helpful to Riverside Speedway, and especially the United Sprint Car Series. We asked him if he would like to come over and be part of this event. He said he would be honored to do so.
He told us many times that he had attended races at Riverside, like many us with our Fathers and our Families and he had great memories.
Please welcome this great Memphian to Riverside when you see him.
I hope you can make it out this Saturday night.
