America has the right to control its borders and enforce its immigration laws.
ICE operations should be based on legal status and applicable law, not a person’s religion or background. The same standards should apply in every community, including cities with large Muslim populations.
Immigration enforcement can be controversial, but disagreements do not change the laws that federal agencies are responsible for enforcing.
At the same time, enforcement should respect constitutional rights and provide people with the legal protections they are entitled to.
The broader debate continues over border security, immigration policy and how federal authorities should enforce the law fairly and consistently.

Wake up, America. Some people call these changes “progress,” but many Americans see them differently. Faith, family and personal freedom remain important values for millions of people.
The debate is really about what kind of future Americans want and how much traditional values should shape society.
People can disagree on these issues, but everyone deserves the freedom to express their views and participate in the conversation.

Zohran Mamdani has faced strong criticism over his political views and statements about America. Critics argue that his positions challenge traditional American values and national policies.
The debate has also raised questions about immigration, citizenship and the responsibilities of people who hold political office.
Supporters of Mamdani argue that his political views are protected by free speech and democratic participation. Critics disagree and believe his positions deserve stronger scrutiny.
The discussion reflects a larger political debate over immigration, national identity and the role of government in American society.

California has officially added Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha to the state’s list of recognized holidays after Gov. Gavin Newsom signed Assembly Bill 2017.
The law gives formal recognition to two major Islamic observances, but it does not automatically provide every worker with two additional paid days off or require all government offices and courts to close.
Eligible state and school employees may use existing holiday credit or personal leave to observe Eid. Schools may also make local arrangements to close, while students can receive excused absences for religious observances.
Supporters say the change helps Muslim students, families and public employees observe important religious occasions without unnecessary conflicts with school or work.
Critics have questioned whether government should formally recognize religious holidays and whether doing so gives particular faith traditions preferential treatment.
California already recognizes several religiously associated observances, including Christmas, part of Good Friday and Diwali.
The debate highlights broader questions about religious accommodation, equal treatment and the role of government.

The United States has completed the withdrawal of its remaining military forces from Iraq, marking another major turning point after more than two decades of American involvement.
U.S. forces first entered Iraq in 2003 and later returned in 2014 after ISIS captured large parts of the country. The U.S.-led coalition helped Iraqi forces fight ISIS and reclaim territory.
The latest withdrawal gives Iraqi security forces greater responsibility for protecting the country and conducting counterterrorism operations.
Supporters of the withdrawal see it as an important step toward greater Iraqi sovereignty. Others remain concerned about ISIS sleeper cells, powerful militias and the possibility of regional instability.
The U.S. is expected to maintain some forms of cooperation with Iraq, including intelligence and training support.
The withdrawal could reduce America's direct military presence in Iraq while giving Baghdad greater control over its own security. At the same time, the situation will depend heavily on whether Iraqi forces can prevent militant groups from rebuilding and maintain stability without large numbers of U.S. troops.

Tina Forte has won the Republican primary in New York’s 14th Congressional District, setting up another election contest involving Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Forte, a small-business owner and political candidate, has emphasized issues including public safety, affordability and the cost of living during her campaign.
Ocasio-Cortez, commonly known as AOC, has represented the district in Congress since 2019 and has become a nationally recognized Democratic figure.
The upcoming race is likely to focus on issues affecting residents of Queens and the Bronx, including housing costs, public safety, jobs and the broader economy.
Forte and Ocasio-Cortez offer voters different political platforms and approaches to federal policy.
The election will give voters an opportunity to evaluate both candidates’ records, priorities and positions before deciding who should represent the district in Congress.
As the campaign develops, voters will hear more arguments from both sides about the direction of the district and the issues they believe deserve the most attention.

President Donald Trump has sharply criticized the political left, arguing that progressive policies on immigration, culture and government are damaging the United States.
Trump has frequently used strong language when discussing his political opponents and has described the border, immigration and other domestic issues as major national concerns.
His supporters argue that stronger immigration enforcement and opposition to progressive policies are necessary to protect national security and American institutions.
Critics argue that this kind of political rhetoric deepens divisions and unfairly portrays political opponents as enemies rather than fellow Americans with different views.
The debate reflects broader disagreements in the United States over immigration, government policy, cultural issues and the direction of the country.
As political campaigns continue, voters are hearing competing arguments from both parties about what policies would best address these issues.
The disagreements remain central to the national political conversation, with Americans holding a wide range of views about the country’s future.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville is warning Americans that the upcoming midterm elections could have major consequences for the direction of Congress.
Tuberville urged voters to participate and support Republican candidates, emphasizing the importance of turnout.
Midterm elections determine control of seats in Congress and can significantly affect which party controls the legislative agenda and committee leadership.
Candidates and political leaders from both parties are expected to make similar appeals to their supporters as Election Day approaches.
For voters, the election will provide an opportunity to decide which candidates they want representing them in Washington and which policies they want Congress to consider.
The campaign season is expected to bring continued debate over the economy, immigration, national security, healthcare and other major issues.
Tuberville’s comments are part of the broader effort by Republican leaders to encourage their supporters to participate in the upcoming election.

On September 3, 1939, just hours after Britain declared war on Germany, the passenger liner Athenia was torpedoed by a German U-boat in the Atlantic.
The attack came at the beginning of what would become the Battle of the Atlantic, one of the longest and most important campaigns of World War II.
German U-boats attempted to disrupt the shipping routes connecting Britain with North America and other parts of the world.
Britain depended heavily on those routes for food, fuel, weapons, raw materials and troops. Keeping the supply lines open was essential to maintaining the British war effort.
German submarines often operated in coordinated groups known as wolfpacks, targeting Allied convoys crossing the Atlantic.
At night, U-boats could surface near merchant ships, launch torpedoes and quickly disappear before es**rt vessels could respond.
The Battle of the Atlantic became a massive struggle involving submarines, aircraft, warships and merchant vessels—and the survival of Britain depended heavily on keeping the ocean supply routes open.
