Established in 1979, we are a local nonprofit supporting people in Greater St. Charles County and Jefferson County. Sunnyhill, formerly the Council for Extended Care, was founded in 1978 by 18 Missouri Families who wanted to create a world of opportunity for their children with developmental disabilities. 🌌🎨 Every masterpiece has a story... and this one is out of this world.
As we count down to ARTventure 2026: Reach for the Stars, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at one of this year's most meaningful collaborative art projects.
Instead of letting leftover paint go to waste, every color used by our artists throughout the ARTventure studio sessions was mixed together to create the base for a collection of handcrafted planets. Each planet carries a little piece of every artist's creativity, making this project a true reflection of our entire Sunnyhill art community.
In this video, you'll see artists Alex and Steven placing the planets onto a stunning galaxy canvas, bringing the final vision to life. Together, they're creating something that's bigger than any one artist could make alone—a beautiful reminder that when creativity comes together, incredible things happen.
