A full room of planners and doers asking smart questions about how to reach more people. That's a conversation we were glad to be part of.
This week, KARMA jack's Kara Sellentine and Ethan Rice presented at the sold-out 2026 Destination Michigan Tech & Innovation Summit.
Their session focused on a challenge event planners know well: building broader awareness while finding the specific audiences who will show up, participate, and make an event successful.
Kara and Ethan shared lessons from our work with legacy organizations and major events, including the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear and Oakland University's KARMA jack Golden Grizzlies Festival of Races presented by Oakland University Credit Union.
The best part was the conversation in the room. Michigan has an impressive hospitality and experiential presence, with people who are thinking carefully about technology, marketing, audience growth, and what makes an experience worth attending.
