Today, Mayor Scott Fadness sat down with Tom Dickey of Rebar Development to share the story behind the Nickel Plate District, lessons learned along the way and what it takes to build a walkable downtown. The conversation offered valuable insights to more than 250 architecture and design professionals from across Indiana attending the American Society of Landscape Architects: Indiana Chapter Annual Conference.

Afterward, Deputy Mayor Elliott Hultgren gave attendees a walking tour of Fishers Event Center Center and Fishers District, highlighting another milestone in the city's growth and development.

🚧 Milling & Paving Ahead: Expect delays at 116th Street & Allisonville Road October 8–16.

Drivers should plan for delays during ALL scheduled work, with particularly long delays expected Friday, October 9.

🔹 Thurs, Oct. 8 | 7 a.m.–7 p.m.: Milling and paving of Allisonville Road’s outside lanes.
🔹 Fri, Oct. 9 | 7 a.m.–7 p.m.: Milling and paving of Allisonville Road’s inside lanes and turn lane, along with traffic signal timing adjustments. Major delays are anticipated—drivers are strongly encouraged to use an alternate route.
🔹 Mon, Oct. 12, 7 p.m.–Oct. 13, 7 a.m.: Overnight milling on 116th Street.
🔹 Oct. 13–16 | 7 p.m.–7 a.m. nightly: Overnight paving on 116th Street.

Expect lane and turn restrictions, traffic shifts, and temporary entrance closures throughout these operations. Allow extra travel time or consider an alternate route on each workday.

Businesses remain open! Individual entrances may temporarily close and will reopen as work allows.

Dates and work hours may change due to weather or construction conditions. Please use caution through the work zone.

Heads up, Fishers drivers: Milling and paving work is scheduled at 116th Street and Allisonville Road from October 9–16.

Drivers should expect lane restrictions, traffic shifts, and delays throughout the area. Some access points may be temporarily impacted as crews move through, but area businesses will remain open and accessible.
