You'll have delicious locally grown food, a wonderful nights sleep and we also have a yoga studio on site. Our beautiful farm like setting is located on two acres in Hamilton County Indiana. With luscious gardens, large native Indiana trees and our very own historic barn, we take you back to a simpler time where you can breath and slow down. The mid 1800’s gothic farmhouse has ample guest rooms each with their own bath and common areas. The early 1900’s cottage houses the kitchen and dinning areas with a sun room and a fireplace that will warm you. We're also honored to have one of the best yoga instructors in the area at the Prairie Yoga Studio is just across the courtyard from your guest room. We're located directly north of downtown Indianapolis in the lovely Hamilton County with an easy thirty to forty minute drive.

Did you know you can bring your whole family to the Headless Horseman Festival at Conner Prairie without ever seeing the Headless Horseman? 🎃
If your little ones aren’t into the scary stuff, there’s still SO much fall fun to enjoy! Arrive when the festival opens at 5 PM and spend the early evening exploring:

Find spooky ringmaster Hugo Egress leading the way into the Haunted Trail corn maze.
Brom Bones, rival to schoolmaster Ichabod Crane and Legend of Sleepy Hollow spooky tale-teller can be found while waiting in line for the Headless Horseman’s hayride.
These are no ordinary pumpkins. They will be singing spooky welcome tunes all night near the barrel train ride.

From haunted hayrides and corn mazes to delicious carmel apples, puppet shows, and literal fire breathers, there’s a little something for everyone — whether you’re coming for the scares or the fall family fun.
And the best Headless Horseman insider tip? Prairie Guest House is just a spooky stroll across the street. 🏡 The perfect place to rest your head… if you still have it. 😉

4️⃣ Everyone bakes a cake + brings it to the party

PumpkinTown at Allisonville Home & Garden 🎃
Less than 10 minutes from Prairie Guest House, PumpkinTown is packed with festive fall fun for the whole family. Ride the Sullivan Express Train through creative pumpkin displays, then hop off at PumpkinTown to let the kids enjoy a magic act, hay climbing tower, trick-or-treating, and carnival games and prizes. You can also pick up a s’mores kit and make a sweet fall treat while you take in the seasonal sights. Note: Be sure to reserve your train ticket in advance.
Spencer Farm 🌸
Just 8 minutes from Prairie Guest House, Spencer Farm is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a hands-on outdoor experience. Cut wildflowers, dig up a mum, u-pick raspberries and asparagus, or grab a treat from the farm store, including ice cream, fudge, and pies.
Then settle in at the w**ery for a tasting flight, live music, charcuterie, and food trucks while you watch the sunset and the kids run through the vines. Spencer Farm is open Monday–Saturday from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday from 12–6 p.m. Spencer Farm Winery is open Tuesday–Thursday from 3–9 p.m., Friday from 3–10 p.m., Saturday from 12–10 p.m., and Sunday from 1–6 p.m. Check their event calendar for live music and special events.
Tuttle Orchards 🍎
Our closest apple orchard, Tuttles is about 30 minutes away, making it an easy stop on your way into or out of town. Spend the day picking apples, playing more than 30 kids’ games and activities, enjoying fresh c***r, taking a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, and petting some sweet farm animals. Admission is $5 per person Monday–Friday and $8 per person Saturday–Sunday; children 2 and under are free.
After a full day of fall adventures, come back to Prairie Guest House for a cozy room, homemade breakfast, and a little porch time. 🤎
