Fishkill Food Pantry

Double D Contracting reached out to us to see what we could use to help get food to families throughout Southern Dutchess and boy did they deliver! Thank you Devin and Andrea, for all the food and your generous monetary donation, and thanks, too, for coming in for a tour to see what we do! With more than twice as many people needing food in the last couple of years, and rising costs for all of us, we couldn’t do it without those in our community who chose to make it a priority to help their neighbors. Thank you, so much. Check out the beautiful workmanship of Double D Contracting on their page or give theme a call! 845-842-6749

We had a great time packing groceries at ShopRite’s Help Bag Hunger Event last Friday! ShopRite’s Help Bag Hunger Campaign is an annual, month-long community initiative held every September to raise awareness and funds to fight food insecurity.
We didn’t get photos of everyone who participated, but want to thank Pastor Don, Linda, Amy, Doug, and AJ, for joining us! NeighborsHelpingNeighbors foodsecurity fishkill

Thank you, Carmen Negron, and the Regency at Fishkill community for having a food drive and fundraiser for the Fishkill Food Pantry! You came through, again, and helped so many families in the area. This is what community looks like. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support! Hope your meeting went well!

When did "more" start becoming a synonym for "better"? More yield, more production, more efficiency, more profit. We’ve built a food system that constantly asks the land for more, without asking what it needs in return. But food doesn’t begin at the supermarket. It begins in the soil, in the diversity of seeds and crops, in the knowledge of farmers and producers, and in the ecosystems that make growing food possible. When we take too much, we don’t just exhaust the land but we lose biodiversity, the varieties, the knowledge and eventually even the very foundations of the food we depend on. At Slow Food, we believe another way is possible: one that values care over extraction, diversity over uniformity, and enough over endless growth. How about less greed and more care?

When kids remind us of kindness…

Reminder of why we’re all here. Help people when they need help. Use your voice for the voiceless. Sincerely, the kids.
