On July 28th, 1992, Mary J. Blige released her debut album, "What's The 411?" The album took top spot on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart as well as #6 on the Billboard 200. Her unique blend of hip-hop and soul earned her the nickname "Queen of Hip Hop Soul."
Good idea or a bad idea for practicing at home? 🎸🤔
Here are some quick tips to keep your young musician motivated and stress-free during the week:
❌ Practicing two hours straight on Sunday to prepare for a lesson on Monday? Bad idea.
✅ Practicing for only ten minutes, but doing it every single day? Great idea.
❌ Keeping the guitar in its case, zipped up in the closet? Bad idea. (Keep it out on a stand so it's easy to grab!)
✅ Bribing your kid with ice cream to get them to practice their scales? I love it. Good idea. 🍦

Ever heard of a Tarka flute?
The Tarka is a traditional, end-blown wooden duct flute from the Andes mountains, primarily originating in Bolivia, Peru, and northern Chile. Similar to a standard recorder, it features a distinct, angular,, square-bodied shape and produces a rich, rustic, and slightly raspy sound
