Thank you to the 105th Assemblyman AJ Beephan for providing this much-needed guidance!

Navigating property tax exemptions can be challenging, but this relief is vital for our veterans who have been deemed fully disabled (100%) and permanent and total by the VA.

We strongly urge all veterans and supporters to reach out to your local County, Town, Village, City, and School District to ensure these benefits are properly recognized and implemented in your community.

Attn; ALL eligible Fishkill, Dutchess County and New York State disabled VETS!

Property Tax Exemption Update for 100% Service-Connected Disabled Veterans

Effective October 1, 2026, eligible veterans rated as 100% Permanent and Total (P&T) disabled may qualify for additional local property tax exemptions under New York Real Property Tax Law (RPTL) Section 458-a(11).

Please note: Local municipal governments and school boards must independently vote to approve and adopt these additional exemptions before they become available in your specific taxing jurisdiction.

Recommended Next Steps

Gather Documentation: Retrieve your official Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) documentation proving your 100% Permanent and Total service-connected disability rating.

Contact Local Authorities: Reach out to your local municipal offices—including Town, City, Village, County, and School district tax assessors—to confirm whether your specific taxing jurisdiction has voted to adopt the exemption.

Happy 250 years! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

We extend our sincerest Father's Day greetings to the military fathers serving away from their families, acknowledging the immense sacrifices they make. Their dedication is a key reminder of the importance of appreciating our nation's freedoms. Freedom isn’t free!

On this day in 1944, American and Allied forces liberated Normandy, France from German occupation, marking a crucial turning point in World War II, known as Operation Overlord or D-Day, which ultimately led to the German military's surrender in May 1945.

The significant contribution of the United States in defeating the Germans cannot be overstated, with numerous individuals from Fishkill, Dutchess County, and New York having participated in D-Day, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. 🙏🪖⚓️✈️🎖️🇺🇸

As the United States commemorates its 250 years of existence, this day serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made to preserve the freedoms that Americans cherish, and it is imperative to acknowledge the profound debt owed to the generation of Americans who answered the call to duty, sacrificed, and later rebuilt their lives to shape
modern society.

We extend our gratitude to the families, friends, fellow veterans, and supporters who braved the inclement weather to attend the Town of Fishkill's Memorial Day ceremony.

It was particularly humbling to witness the participation of the town's youngest residents, including the Town of Fishkill Police Cadets Color Guard, who demonstrated exemplary leadership, and the children who stood beside their parents with their hands over their hearts during the Pledge. We appreciate their presence and thank their families for bringing them. Additionally, we appreciate Mr. David Rocco and the Friends of the Mt. Beacon Eight for providing insightful commentary on a significant local historical event(s).

Let the Sound of TAPS echo for eternity for our fallen servicemembers, who perished in service to our great country. 🪖⚓️✈️🎖️🇺🇸

May we honor their ultimate sacrifice by living up to the values worth their lives. 🙏🇺🇸
