Medicines can fail quietly when the dose is unpredictable.

Here is what the integration of Enantia’s cannabinoid co-crystal technology patents into Oscity BioSciences’ established foundation unlocks:

For patients – A defined solid form is one of the unglamorous requirements of a product that can work consistently day after day. If cannabinoids are to deliver therapeutic value, consistency is not a luxury. It is the therapy.

For providers and developers – Co-formers such as L-proline are already familiar in food and pharma. We are not inventing a new chemical entity. We are putting a known active into a known class of solid form. That keeps the regulatory conversation on quality and performance, not on “what did you turn this molecule into.”

For manufacturing – Purification without chromatography, at commercial scale, is reality. Our process takes input material to a high-purity solid at ordinary temperature and pressure.

For partners – Issued U.S. patents 11,168,047 and 11,993,563 cover characterized co-crystal forms across the cannabinoid landscape: C*D, CBG, CBN, C*DV, and related structures. That is a platform, not just a single novelty compound. Licensees and development partners can build products on protected ground.

At Oscity BioSciences, we are on a journey to develop medicines the way other serious drugs are developed: as defined solids, with a fingerprint, a process, and a path.

If you are working in formulation, CMC, or cannabinoid and want the technical briefing behind our announcement, our team is available.

Why does a crystal structure matter if the active molecule is the same?

Cannabinoids are oily, light-sensitive, and poorly soluble in water. That is why oral products are inconsistent. Same milligram on the label. Different amount that actually reaches the patient. Different shelf life. Different batch.

A does not change the pharmacology of the . It changes the conditions under which that pharmacology can be trusted.

In practical terms, the right cocrystal can help with four things that determine whether a therapy is usable:
1. Purity — the crystal can pull the target cannabinoid out of a complex extract in one step, often from crude material to pharmaceutical-range purity, without relying on heavy chromatography.
2. Stability — the ordered solid is less of a moving target than an oil. That matters for shelf life, heat, and manufacturing.
3. Consistency — one defined crystal fingerprint means the same solid form, batch after batch. Formulation teams can design around a known solid, not a variable resin.
4. Delivery potential — a more controlled solid is easier to build into tablets, capsules, and other pharmaceutical dosage forms. That is how we move from an extract to a product a provider can prescribe with confidence.

Enhanced therapeutic value, in this context, does not mean a magic new effect. It means the same active ingredient, in a form that can be purified, stored, dosed, and developed like a medicine.

That is the difference between a ingredient and a candidate.

Last week we announced the acquisition of Enantia’s cannabinoid cocrystal patents. So what actually is a cocrystal?

A cocrystal is not a new drug. It is not a blend. It is not a chemical rewrite of C*D, CBG, or any other cannabinoid. It is two known molecules that lock together in a precise crystal...the cannabinoid and a familiar, food-grade partner such as L-proline.

Raw cannabinoid oil is hard to purify, hard to dose the same way twice, and hard to keep stable. A cocrystal provides an ordered and consistent molecular structure. That ordered form is why companies have used cocrystals for years in other drug classes. The FDA has already approved multiple cocrystal medicines. The science is not experimental. We are now applying it across the cannabinoid spectrum, with issued U.S. patents, and building upon that platform.

More to come on why that innovative form changes what a therapy can actually do to help many.

Oscity BioSciences Acquires Enantia's Cannabinoid Cocrystal Technology Patents to Expand Production Capabilities 09/30/2026

Oscity BioSciences today announced the acquisition of Enantia’s foundational U.S. cannabinoid cocrystal patents—Nos. 11,168,047 and 11,993,563—and the opening of a path for continued scientific cooperation.

Enantia originated the co-crystal science behind U.S. Patents 11,168,047 and 11,993,563. These issued claims cover defined cannabinoid cocrystals, including C*D, CBG, CBN, C*DV, and related molecules with selected co-formers, with processes for their preparation and purification. The technology enables chromatography-free purification and solid forms with the stability, consistency, and developability required for pharmaceutical-grade APIs, and is now being advanced at our cGMP facility in Foley, Alabama.

This relationship connects two decades of Barcelona solid-state expertise with a U.S. manufacturing and licensing platform built for pharmaceutical-grade cannabinoid APIs. One defined polymorph. No chromatography. GRAS co-formers. A clearer path from extract to consistent, developable solid form. Together we intend to advance research, scale production, and explore pharmaceutical applications of these solid forms.

We are grateful to Enantia team for the science that made this possible. We look forward to the work ahead and the responsible development of these assets.

Why the Endocannabinoid System Matters?
The human endocannabinoid system (ECS) is often called one of the most important regulatory networks in the body, yet it remains under-recognized.

Its importance lies in its reach and its role as a bridge between body and mind. CB1 and CB2 receptors are distributed so widely that the influences nearly every major physiological process. When the system functions optimally, it supports resilience. When it is out of balance, research associates that imbalance with chronic pain, inflammatory conditions, neurodegenerative processes, mood disorders, sleep, and metabolic issues.

Because the ECS is so central to maintaining health, therapies that can gently and selectively support or modulate it hold significant therapeutic potential. Not all cannabinoid approaches are equal, however. Stability, purity, bioavailability, and how the compound interacts with the receptors matter greatly. Areas that Oscity BioSciences platform can address.

Scientific advancement in this space requires more than simply extracting plant compounds. It requires dedicated pharmaceutical-grade innovation that focuses on.

What Does the Endocannabinoid System Do?
The human Endocannabinoid System (ECS) doesn’t just exist, it actively works every day to keep your body in balance (homeostasis).

When something disrupts equilibrium — stress, injury, inflammation, or environmental changes — the body produces endocannabinoids on demand.

These molecules bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors and help modulate:
• Mood and stress response
• Pain sensation
• Appetite and metabolism
• Immune function and inflammation
• Sleep, memory, and neurological signaling
• Reproductive and gastrointestinal processes

Because endocannabinoids are made only when needed and then rapidly broken down, the system is highly precise and self-regulating. Dysregulation of the has been linked to a wide range of conditions, which is why it has become a major focus of therapeutic research and product development.

This is the biological foundation that makes thoughtfully designed cannabinoid compounds so promising. BioSciences is building on that science with proprietary approaches and patented products designed to engage the ECS more effectively.

What Is the Endocannabinoid System?
Have you ever wondered why your body can maintain balance amid constant change? Meet one of the most important systems you may never have learned about in school: the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).

Discovered in the early 1990s, the ECS is a complex cell-signaling network present throughout the human body...in the brain, immune cells, organs, connective tissues, and more. It consists of three core components:
• Endocannabinoids (naturally produced molecules such as anandamide and 2-AG)
• Cannabinoid receptors (primarily CB1, concentrated in the nervous system, and CB2, more prominent in the immune system)
• Enzymes that synthesize and break down these molecules on demand

Unlike many other systems, the ECS works as a master regulator that helps keep internal conditions stable. Phytocannabinoids (from plants) can interact with the same receptors, which is why research into cannabinoid-based therapeutics continues to expand.

At Oscity BioSciences, we believe understanding the ECS is the foundation for developing next-generation, precision cannabinoid medicines. A mission our team is dedicated to.

Stability study and structural insights into cannabidiol cocrystals† 08/12/2026

New research highlights the power of cocrystals for C*D.

Cocrystals are generating serious interest in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical development, and for good reason. Many are curious about cocrystals and the advantages they offer.

A 2025 study published in CrystEngComm evaluated five C*D co-crystals designed to address C*D's well-known formulation challenges: low melting point, poor stability, and limited shelf life.

Every cocrystal tested melted at a higher temperature than pure C*D. Two performed especially well. The C*D-L-proline form stood out, remaining stable significantly longer than pure C*D under accelerated heat and humidity stress conditions.

The conclusion is straightforward: the right co-former meaningfully improves a cannabinoid's solid-state stability and handling properties.

This is precisely the foundation of Oscity Biosciences' patented approach. Our two granted U.S. patents, US 11,168,047 and US 11,993,563, cover co-crystal solid forms across the full cannabinoid spectrum using L-proline as the co-former, producing a single defined polymorph with consistent stability and dissolution characteristics that pure C*D and standard distillates cannot match.

The science is there. The IP is granted. The conversation is just getting started. www.Oscity.com
