Today, we spent the morning with some bright young minds! 🍎📚⭐️

💧🌎🚰 Lee Kibler and Tony Schachle discussed groundwater pollution with fifth-grade students at Spanish Fort Elementary School and how we all play a part in keeping water clean. Learning came to life with a hands-on model to show where water goes underground and the impact pollutants have.

Hunter Wilson and Matthew Metz from our Daphne line crew visited Jubilee Shores United Methodist Weeschool to talk with some of our tiniest neighbors about power line safety. They even got to test out a hard hat and see some of our tools up close. 🥹🦺

Every good meal leaves something behind — whether it's bacon grease, frying oil, or a little butter in the skillet. Instead of sending it down the drain, save it for recycling.

Check out what's on the recycling menu, then start collecting used cooking oil and grease at home. It's one small habit that helps and keeps Baldwin County beautiful. 🧡💛

UPDATE 9:40 p.m.: We’ve got multiple lines down due to fallen trees and large debris. Crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to get us fully restored.

Riviera crews are currently responding to multiple electric service interruptions throughout the County. Interruptions are linked to passing storms, but we will update this post as we learn more from our lineworkers who are working diligently to restore power. ⚡️

Every good recipe begins with a pat of butter or a splash of oil and ends with a pinch of responsibility. Each meal cooked at home is an opportunity to by recycling used cooking oil and grease instead of sending it down the drain.

Getting started is easy: Pick up a free collection container from a recycling station, save your cooled cooking oil and grease at home, then return it to the station when it's full. Together, we can keep fats, oils, and grease out of our pipes, waterways, and wastewater system.

UPDATE 11:35 A.M.: Most of the outage has been restored. Some customers are still without power while our crews safely remove the tree.

Some of our electric customers in Daphne are currently experiencing a service interruption due to a fallen tree on our power line. 🌳⚡

Crews are on site, removing the tree and working to restore power as quickly as possible. We’ll update this post as we know more.

It is seriously coming down out there! Some of our electric customers in Foley, Elberta, and Lillian are experiencing an interruption in service due to storms passing through the area. Our crews are on their way to restore power! We appreciate your patience, and we will update this post as needed. Be safe out there, Baldwin County! ⛈️☔️

Ask Darian Waters' crew what makes him a great leader, and you'll hear about how he looks out for his team, is always willing to lend a hand, and makes sure everyone is in the loop when it comes to company events or changes.

After nearly three decades on Riviera's linecrew, Darian has a lot of valuable and hard-earned experience to share with his crew and young line workers who are just beginning their careers. "He attends every apprentice and journey training and testing to offer his advice and make sure we understand the task and safe working practices," said Bryan Cook, Journeyman Lineworker.

Robby Howard, Line Crew Supervisor, said it best, "Darian knows what it takes to be a good leader — he leads by example." It's not uncommon for Darian to put on his climbing gear and join the guys on a job, or for him to call a crew member up just to check in.

Congratulations, Darian, on Employee of the Month! We're thankful for your dedication and service to Riviera and your team.
